Trouble with VZW V3c connection

I have MPT and can make that work over Bluetooth just dandy. However, in the connections menu, it doesn't provide access to the USB port. I have a cable, but P2K and BitPim seem to require Com port usage. I'm admittedly not real hip to this stuff, and am getting frustrated.

Also, how do you access the service mode? I understand there is a code to punch in, but does it have to be done while it is starting up or can it be done anytime.

The n00b alert on P2k is pretty annoying( but neccessary); what does the "a:\ partition" alert mean?

Sorry for the long post. This n00b needs fundamental assistance! Thanks in advance!

I'm not seeing the edit tab, so I'll just post again.
I got into the service menu, but still have nowhere to enable the USB. I know someone else has had this problem.

What are you trying to do?

Much of the "hacking tools" like P2KCommander, MotKit, etc.. are written for GSM phones... NOT CDMA phone, like what Verizon sells... So they rarely, if ever, work.. When it comes to P2KCommander, some versions are less troublesome with CDMA phones (like 3.22 or 3.26), but unlike GSM Phones, PST needs to be running in the background for P2KCommander to connect to the phone.

PST and BitPim do NOT work over Bluetooth. And BitPim is "limited" on what you can do.

To get started... Use the Link in my signature.. when you get there... check out the HOW TO's link.. the V3C INFO link.. the FAQ... and the PC Software pages to get started. READ VERY CAREFULLY.. even any/all fine print!!

Oh, and Most people trying to mod the Verizon V3C.. hang out over in the Verizon/Moto section...
