whats with V3c having delays?

im thinking of getting verizon and i was looking at my friends and the stores V3c and when i click on contacts it takes like 3 or 4 seconds to even view the names on my contacts. Why is this? what is with all these other programs everyone keeps talking about? like attel or flash i dont know,
