E815 Text Message Auto Learn

I am a newbie here so please bear with me. I have a motorola E815 and have been loving it. I got it about 2 months ago and while text messaging i realized that it will actually learn some of the things you type and suggest them first the next time you type. WELLLLL... I recently went in and got a new phone because the speaker on mine seemed to be crackling to much. well, this new phone doesnt seem to learn anything i type and its making me really mad. For example... when in the iTap message entry mode, I press 1+1+7 and it will just come up with ''s but before... if i hit 1, then selected the character that I wanted, then pressed 1 again, selected, and 7, and selected, (making a : - P) face) and the next time I type those keys in sequence, it would suggest the same things I typed last time. Does anyone know how to get that feature back?!

Thank you 100 times over in advance.

i don't have an e815 but my suggestion is to look for the latest language pack for it and flash it on using RSD Lite 2.5 OR u can just completely update ur software using motorola's new software update (there is a thread on this forum for it that has the link). do this only if ur phone is new and u haven't done much to it becuz it will wipe out ur memory.

Well, I actually was just planning on doing that. I just used the data cable to download all my contacts and such, and yes, the phone is new so i already lost my ring tones and wallpapers (saved on pc)

Thanks for the info.

Mine have always done it, and i have had several replacements since I've gotten it...

oh, and just remember, the "crackling noise" is probably just because the speaker can not handle the volume of noise that it must produce. It is very normal, and will not go away unless you lower the volume to about 4 or 5. Even there it will still occur, but it is still a loud phone. I would not flash the phone, or change the language pack. Just bring it into verizon and make sure you have the latest software version...its 8720_01.1E.00 go to Menu--> Phone info--> other information--> Software version to find out which one you have.
