hey everyone i obught a used Sk> I powered it on and it has a lock code on it! I tihnk it is 3 digits, if anyone can tell me how to disable it that would be great! I do not know the orginal owner or anything. Thakns

ok i bypassed the LOCKCODE thing. If i do a hard reset will that reset everything and take that 3 digit code off?

The only way to permanently remove the lock code is to call the carrier. They can do it, you cant.

that.. or walk-in service centres can remove the privacy lock from your hiptop too. my friend walked in to audiovox canada head office and they did a flash right on the spot.

There are no walk-in service centers in the USA though.

well i tried this and it wored its just that to use it you gotta do it each time press all da Corner buttons @ the same time simotainiously (Menu+Jump+Cancel+Back) do it alot of times until it gets through sometimes it takes a min or less

here you go:

HOW TO BYPASS THE 3 DIGIT PRIVACY LOCK
(Make sure that you are at the privacy lock screen before performing the following operations)

1. Enter the Emergency Calls Only Screen
(UPPER LEFT HAND BUTTON AND LOWER LEFT HAND BUTTON TOGETHER)
2. Activate the System Bios Reboot
(HOLD THE LOWER LEFT HAND BUTTON (JUMP BUTTON) AND WHILE HOLDING THE JUMP BUTTON PRESS SHIFT AND S ALL AT THE SAME TIME.

You will then see the System Bios Screen come up and it will reboot the SK2.

3. One the reboot is complete, press the Back Button ( LOWER RIGHT HAND BUTTON)

4. to permanently remove the code just do this: go to phone press menu go to system info press menu shift x, it will ask if you want to erase settings press enter and all settings will be erase(username, lock code ect)

That trick doesn't work anymore. Also, Menu+shift+x doesn't clear the privacy lock. Never has.

works everytime for me , i deal with sidekicks all day, also can remove subsidy code with certain steps...new sidekick and old sidekicks , no problem

the jump+shift+s works... let it reboot, and it will ask you to log in if your sim card is inside after doing so, all the settings are automatically reset

I have the same situation with a Sidekick 3, got it from someone and cannot get pass the 3 digit lock. Will these steps work for it also? Has someone been able to do these steps successfully?

Dude, jump+shift+s hasn't worked since OS 2.0 came out like forever ago. All the "known" ways to bypass the security lock on the SK2 have been fixed on the SK3. If you have a privacy lock on a device, call your carrier. They can clear it for you. If it's not your phone, call the carrier and they can help you return it to it's rightful owner. Sorry to all the people with stolen kicks that can't use 'em.

there is a way and i did it this morning but i dont know what combo i used. the phone was in privacy lock then i went to emergancy calls then did some menu shift combos and it ask me if i wanted to factory restore which wipes all data then the phone restarts and your unlocked

try the letters like on the q side

feedback if this works for ne one else

the dude who reset it by fooling around with the buttons got it right... i just did it BUT now it says "Waiting for Activation"... i bought my sidekick used too and i called up t mobile but they said my phone wasnt registered. does that even matter?

Ok People This Will By Pass Any Three Digit Code On The Sidekick 3, Sidekick Lx And The Sidekick Slide

1. Remove Simcard
2.press And Hold You Finger On The Letter "r"
3.place Battery Into The Phone While Holding The Letter "r"
4.wait Until You See The 4 Icons Appear On The Screen
5. Remove Your Finger From The Letter "r" And Let The Phone Re Boot
6. Place Your Sim Into The Phone .. All Done...

if it is a sk2 then idk.

for 3 id lx slide

soft reset and hold r the phone will restart to 4 icons then restart opnce more then let go and everything will be erased and the 3 digigt code will be gone..

but u will neeed to call tmobile to get the previous username removed from the imei

on the password screen (note, remove SIM card first)

hold down @+1+0 (phone should reboot)
press and hold R (let it reboot 2 times)
stop holding R it will take you to the main menu.

the code worked for my sidekick slide.....but when i put my sim card in and turn the phone on it tells me that i have to wait for activation (might take up to 48 hours before i see the welcome screen) and until then i can only make emergency calls

you should now be on the home screen, bypassed the waiting for activation screen

this code works for the sidekick 2 but as soon as the phone reboots, the main menu screen pops up for like 5 seconds and then the privacy lock screen comes up again!

Wireless Techican Support can give you the master unlock code if you forgot yours.. trust me, I know someone who forgot their lock code and had to call in. Only the account HOLDER can call in and request this, so dont try and steal someones hiptop and think you can get away with it.
