Hey guys,

Im a noob so please forgive me.

I am looking into buying a data cable for my 6200. The main reason I want it is to upload my phone/address book to my phone. Is this possible? If so, what software will I need? bitpim? Any help is appreciated

THanks in advance.

Yes, you'll need either bitpim or QPST, and the phone drivers.

QPST will not let you modify the phonebook, only the raw filesystem.

So will the data cable be useful in my case?

The only thing I have been able to do with my data cable is take photos off of my 6200.

But my version of BitPim is a bit outdated.

I see newer versions support the LG6200, so I will grab it and see what kind of damage I can do

I got my data cable on eBay from 3gcables.com

Got an updated version of BitPim that supports the 6200.

It allows editting of the address book, so it will do what you want.

I was hoping that it would have a way to access the photos without having to use the filesystem tab, but that seems to be the only way to do it.

Deleting pics off the phone from the filesystem tab causes significant problems, so I just transfer them off of the phone and then do the actual deletions using the phone.

Hey bgclarke,

Please disregard my PM. I got it to work. I used the driver that you gave the link to in your other thread. Seems like its going to work. Ill keep you posted. Thanks!!
