8125 or W600i... i basically need to take notes, task and todo lists, a decent camera, A pretty good mp3 player with **GREAT SPEAKERS** this is very important here... a nice alarm clock, and i want to get a phone i can keep for a longgggg time and have alottt of fun with. a wow factor phone that i can enjoy basically with all these functions and of course very clear phone calls with good reception BUT my main concern of the 8125 is when im browsing the internet, taking notes, and listening to mp3s... No not at the same time though, will it slow down??

well if you need to take notes than NEED the 8125...but the w600i will fullfill all your other requirements quite perfectly....

If you intend to do what you listed in a light to moderate degree, then the w600 wil suffice. If you intend to heavily use note taking, internet browsing, and music functions (better suited for the w600) - the 8125 is for you. Also keep in mind the size difference of the phones and the price difference.

sorry dont have any w600 experience. But I use my 8125 for note taking from time to time. As with any PDA, you can type on the keyboard or write your notes using stylus. You can also have your handwriting converted to typed characters through writing recognization, or leave it as handwritings. Oh yeah it also does graphic scribbles. To me it's the best thing next to a piece of paper and pen.

If you want to keep it for a long time and like to tinker, 8125 will let you install any WM5 software to add functions. Like the other day I installed a GPS and it's now a GPS navigation device. There is even a software that lets you use the camera light as flash light.

W600 also has a camera light that can be used as a flashlight or s.o.s mode, it has everything a phone could have except expandable memory and 3rd party applications.

I used the flashlight to illustrate a point, not saying W600 don't have it. if there is a function (such as the flashlight) that wasn't designed into the device, it can always be added later with third part app.

Some of the stuff I use my 8125 for: eBook reading (text and comics), GPS navigation (both for driving and geocaching/hiking), RSS feed reader, weather panel, dictionary (multi-lingual), instant messenger, email, web browsing, video/mp3 file player and live streaming. I've been playing with video streaming through an orb server at home, which lets me watch live TV channels or recorded shows.

So if you like to tinker, a PPC type of phone is better choice. If you want something that works primarily as a phone, W600 is a better choice.

Wirelessly posted (SonyEricssonW600i/R7B Browser/NetFront/3.3 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0)

If the speakers are more important than the w600i is a great choice.

I agree with u completely, i think the w600 is as close to a smartphone as u can get, without beiong able to add 3rd party apps, but if he needs everything u described i agree he should go with a smartphone instead.

What software do you use to turn the 8125 into a tablet for note taking?
