Ok, I've been with Verizon for a couple of days now and I have the VX9800. It's a cool phone, just not as cool as I thought it would be.. Size is sort of an issue and so is the battery life on this thing.

Sooo, between the A950, VX8100, and the V.. which is best in features AND reliability in your opinion? Please share any feedback, I need help!

8100 and the v or the e815 is even better the a950 been known to cut in and out on calls u can read about it under the samsung forum in the verizon section do a search also you can read about each of these phones there so you can get a better ideal of which one you want.
ps if you text alot and need the qwerty keyboard then keep the lg9800 the lg8100 and the e815 are really good phones if u need the best rf then the e815 is the best over all.

For reception, LG failes miserably with their handsets. Motorola and Samsung wipe them clear clean in this department.

Someone tell me if Im wrong, but isn't the 9800 basically a 8100 w/ a qwerty keybord? There aren't much feauture related differences in the two phone from what I have seen..

I would agree with nokiaman the e815 is awesome. I had to choose between the e815 and the 8100 and I'm glad I did almost everything about the e815 is better (UI software, camera, reception, battery, quality of phone). One of my best buds has an 8100 but wishes he could return it for the e815 after playing with mine for a bit.

Also verizon has the free 15 day trial. So you should be able to test it out for 15 days and if you don't like it you can alsways bring it back and exchange it. No questions asked (or so I've been told).

I can't comment about the other phones but good luck.

I have the vx9800 (the V) and I couldn't be more happy. And to those who say that LG has terrible reception thats totally BS. I get better reception on my LG vx9800 than I did on the RAZR and my other Samsung. I took a 4 hour trip to my brothers in Upstate New York and was on the phone pretty much the entire time and NEVER got a dropped call. I also live in New York and have no problems using it on the Subway or the LIRR.

So I have no idea why a certain few people here keep saying LG reception is so bad. I have not had a single issue.

I highly recommend the V/vx9800. It plays games really well, music well, Text messaging well.. and the speakerphone and call aspects are great. Overall an excellent phone.

I haven't tried the 8100, but I have the V and I have used my brother's 815 a lot. The 815 does have really good reception and it sounds amazing as far as phonecalls go. The V also has good reception, but not as good as the 815. The Only thing I don't like about the 815 is the outer screen isn't that great and the build quality is suspect. Phone feels floppy and slightly creaky. The V has held together really well (got it when it first came out). As far as size goes, there is really not that much of a size difference between the v and the 815 when closed (if you take the antenna on the 815 into account). The V is heavier though.

Lastly, I really like all the things you can do on the v now, especially vz navigator. If you haven't used it, go to a store and demo it. You can tell it to find a place by name, or you can tell it that you want to go to a chinese restaraunt (for example). It will find the closest restaurants to your present location and you select one of them and go! It's really amazing.

My e815 also has remarkable battery life as well in addition to excellent reception.

only paid.

My personal experience is the 9800 is the best all around phone I've seen Verizon offer. I don't feel i'm missing anything on any aspect. well.. affordable unlimited internet would be nice, but that's a verizon issue, not a phone one. I've been with them since '99 and this is the first time I feel I'm not missing out on the fun phones that are offered by crappier services (i.e. t-mobile & the SD). I'm pleased with it.

but obex working or no?
VZ website said E815 not support OBEX, but nothing says about 9800

Posted by: iielev8ii

vx9800 does not support obex..i'm pretty sure all verizon phone do not support obex without any modding done to them

Completely agreed.

My RAZR V3 never had this good reception.

And I've been texting a helluva lot more lately since I got the VX9800. And it's just fun to annoy friends that I text because I write so much in a matter of seconds.
