IHF100/Razr V3 drops call waiting/switched calls

I have the IHF1000 Car kit in my Explorer and a Razr V3 on T-Mobile. My problem is using call waiting or letting calls go to voice mail while using the car kit. Each time I answer a call waiting call and try to switch back to the original call the IHF100 ENDS ALL CALLS. If I let call waiting go to voice mail, the same thing happens... after the second call stops beeping in, I get CALL ENDED from the IHF1000.

So, I called Motorola and they told me that it was most likely something in the installation. They gave me an authorized installer in my area, who happened to be the same company that installed my car kit. No problem with the installation.

Has anyone else had this kind of problem and does anyone have some kind of solution?

Thanks

I own and operate a Cellular installation company in NY and have Installed hundreds of IHF1000 's for many bluetooth phones. This kit, by far, is the best kit for voice quality, as well as speach recognition, available.

Recently I have gotten aprox 10 cals from people who are telling me that when they are on the phone in the car, and another call comes in, on call waiting, as soon as the 2nd call goes to voicemail, the original call is dropped, yet the phone still says "connected" untill you turn off the ignition or press and hold the green button to sever the connection of the phone and kit.
the one similarity between all my customers is the razr phone on either tmobile or cingular. I have not yet come across a Verizon guina pig.

I went and checked out 2 of these vehicles, both using Cingular razrs. I paired my e815 and recreated the situation and No problems.2nd call went to voice mail and I didn't get cut off on the 1st call.I than linked it to my I870 Nextel, still no problem.

I spent time speaking to the know nothings"" at 1-877-motoblu. they told me it was the software on the kit. I brought 2 new kits out to the site and swapped them, still the same. Back on the phone with Moto. they say its the software on the phone. My customer got 2 brand new phones from the store and still the same problem.

I have instructed my customers to either say goodbye to the first call before it says good bye anyway, or disconnect from the kit, hit ignore call, and then reconnect to the kit. This is great vbut the law here is "no phone in your hand while opperating a motor vehicle"

I am just looking for some input because motorola had 2 answers and now they are all out. I hope that this forum can help me.

thanks in advance.

Rich

Finally, I called Motorola back to follow up and got some new software versions that SHOULD solve the drop call problem. this is what I was given.
for the razr on cingular
R374_G_0E.41.C3R_b
for the cingular v557
R4512_G_08.28.40.r
for the Tmobile razr
R4512_G_0e.42.09R_a

You will need to goto an authorixed moto repair center to get upgraded.
I hope this helps everyone,somehow.

I come across post in BMW forum saying that R374_G_0E.41.C3R_b did not work. Same problem existed in this version of firmware.

Have you tried this firmware to confirm the problem was fixed ?

Thanks,

I have only had customers with razrs and slvrs on the cingular network using IHF1000 kits. These people have upgraded firmware and do not have the droped call problem.
As for BMW, maybe they have other firmware that they can flash.

Has anyone found a solution for this yet? The firmware that Rich listed for the V3's were already on the phones that I'm dealing with and yet they still have this issue. The latest and greatest firmware R374_G_0E.42.10R_A does not solve the problem.

After doing a little bit of research, I found that this problem was first reported with firmware R374_G_OE.41.C3_A for the Motorola RAZR V3. I'm going to try firmwares that precede this and report it here when I get the results.

Motorola has a bluetooth hotline 1 877 motoblu. try that, if you have plenty of time

Okay, here it is:

I just flashed a T-Mobile RAZR V3 with firmware R374_G_0E.42.15R today and tested it with the call waiting issue on a Moto IHF1000 car kit. Problem resolved! I was able to ignore an incoming call while on the phone with another caller. The second call went to voicemail and did not drop my initial call.

I will test this with a Cingular V3 later tonight and post the results here.

I apologize for the late post, but just so you know, we've been enjoying smooth bluetooth operations in my car for both T-Mobile and Cingular RAZR V3 units.

The "call waiting/dropped call" issue has been resolved with the "..15R" firmware.

Another item this firmware fixed is: bluetooth now releases failed calls (initiated when out of wireless range) and switches back to my car radio. Before the update, the system would lock up until I was back in range.

Hi, have been totally annoyed with bluetooth and razr dropping calls. Can't get any of the Moto CSRs in India to listen to me ... they keep reading me there script and repeating the issue .. ughhh!

Can anyone tell me where to get R4512_G_0e.42.09R_a? Thx.

Actually R374_G_0E.42.17R is the latest; it can be found on MotoX. I have been using it for 8 months with no problems. Good luck.

JETD ... thanks for the info! Flashed with R374_G_0E.42.17R using RSD Lite 2.3 and now my RAZR works perfectly. No more dropped calls when second call comes in on Bluetooth. I love it and love this blog ... you guys are the greatest. Now if only Motorola call centers could learn a litte from here.

If anyone need help, let me know, be glad to return the favor!
