O.k so I downloaded motorola mobile phone tools and am trying to create a ringer for my phone. So I open up the sound and take the part out of the song that I want and try to transfer it to the phone and it says....

Unsupported Format
(mp3 codec may be innapropriate or missing)

I have no clue as to what I am missing or where to find it and would appreciate any help anyone could give me as I am a bit computer illeterate.

Are you using a Verizon phone? Verizon has restricted what Mobile Phone Tools will allow you to do. You can't add sounds or videos on Verizon.

My partner had the same problem with his Verizon v3c and that's what we found out.

I use Magix ringtone maker, it converts it to MP3s, WAVE, AMR, SMAF files, I got more control then MPT, but yet I use MPT just to tranfer jpeg and the ringtones I created, oh, phone book editing and calender too.

Thanks for the info man I really appreciate it. The problem I keep running into is that no matter what I use to create the ringtone when I go to download it to the phone it says the same damn thing.

Unsupported Format
(mp3 codec may be innapropriate or missing)

I have tried saving it as different types of supported files but when I go to transfer to the phone no matter what it says the same thing.
