Need a backUP phone to my 6682, looking for something relatively sleek (nothing too ugly), very well priced (i.e. cheaper the better), HAS SPEAKER-PHONE, IS LOUD IN TERMS OF EAR/SPKR VOLUME, and gets good reception. Any suggestions current or old?

I have a 6620 if you want it. It's actually virtually brand new.

How about a RAZR?
Pretty cheap now, slim, and has loud speaker volume once you SEEM edit it.

Prefer an LG, or Motorola (i.e. their reception and speaker is the best in my area it seems). Also, must be a cingular phone. thanks.

You can get a Nokia 6030 for $30 on Cingular.com if you choose GoPhone. Probably your best bet, as I personally think the purpose of a "backup" phone is one you don't really care if it gets destroyed or whatever. It's got a nice screen, professional looking, and has speakerphone, FM Radio, etc. I'm tempted to pick one up just to have a kick-around phone.

I was thinking the 6030 as well. I'm probably going to order one for my wife soon.

I ordered a 6030 earlier today as a backup to my V551. Most people who have the 6030's seem to be very happy with them. It's a good idea to look at one in a store before purchasing, as they are quite small and the keypad is not very easy to operate. Still, a great deal for $30.00.

I dont understand how goPhones work....I'm on a family plan, and I thought goPhones were pay per use...I want to use it on my plan and switch between phones since I have cingular and they use sim cards (i.e. i think its free to just switch between phones). I maybe confused, please advise.

You just take the sim card out of your existing phone and place it in the gophone. Many, many people have done this, and it appears to work fine. There are both prepaid and monthly-plan gophones, so be sure to pick the prepaid gophone to avoid any charges beyond the initial charge.

I got a 6030 yesterday and the speakerphone is loud and clear. It's great for no-frills, just making/taking calls.
