That will probably never make it to Cingular. One of LG's requirements for their US GSM phones is that they have to look like ugly, old-fashioned CDMA phones. The candybar phone with the sliding QWERTY keypad is the nicest thing they've released for Cingular.

Wirelessly posted (whatever the next lines says: Nokia6270/2.0 (03.53) Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0)

I would buy it. Looks nice. Plus im a fan of lg

According to the link, it's supposedly quad-band, and if that's the case, then I could careless if Cingular gets it, because if I want it I can/will get it (unlocked). Still, I am not sure If I would ever buy an LG GSM phone. I have used/owned LG phones on VZW, but their GSM counterparts have not fared well.

A friend of mine worked at a Cingular store and said LG phones have the most problems and most returns. They're not known for good reception, and really have nothing exciting to offer. He said he will only stick with Motorola and Nokia. Anyways, why would anyone buy this copycat device? The new RAZR V3i will still probably outsell this. You can't imitate the original and get all the credit.

I think the CG 225 is a nice looking phone. The UMTS CU500 is nice too. Maybe not the nicest phones you have ever seen, but far from the ugliest ones I have seen.

Interestingly Motorola is not the best performing brand out there, they can be a mixed bag. The performance is not consistence from model to model. Nokia is fairly consistent though, and have been among the best performing brands if not the best performing brand in recent memory.

The V3i is a nice phone, but I can see wanting this phone because you don't want the same phone that 1/2 of all Cingular users seem to have, or just don't want a couple year old design.

Although I would likely never go LG due to all its problems...this is a very good looking phone. To bad it will probably be crap.

im usually a big nokia or SE fan... hate moto's and indifferent on sammy's and LG's but this one is very nice.

I only have experience with LG's newer models, but from that I can see no reason to bash them.
