If I use the 1-417 WAP dial number, can I get an unlimited media net plan and surf via usb or through a Gomadic cable. Will I incur extra fees by doing this?

One other: I have a USB to X427M cable but can't figure out how to connect it for downloads and ringtones?

Using the 1-417 number is CSD or what use to be called Wireless Internet (used your minutes) and was the backup to their GPRS usage which use to be called Wireless Internet Express.

If you get an unlimited MEdia Net plan it will be using GPRS/EDGE and not your minutes as CSD is not offered anymore as backup. You could tether to a laptop if everything is setup correctly. Only fees you would pay is for the monthly feature.

As for the X427M, you would need to have either EasyGPRS 2.1.8 or PC Studio 1.0 programs to be able to upload *.mid or *.mmf format ringtones or *.jpg, *.gif, *.bmp wallpapers. Seeing as you say you have a USB cable, it probably is an after market one and it will not work unless you have the correct USB drivers.
