I figured when buying this phone that there would be far more website that i could go to than my previouse phone (nokia 6620) I just tried going to google.com/glm... changed to google.com/gmm and the page said that windows does not support it.
is this for real?
I find it hard to belive that the first page I point the browser to I get denied.

I did however install opera mini this atlease enabled me to view the page but when it came to down load GLM the browser said that it was not able to down load files.

Back when it was just Google Local for Mobile, I had no trouble installing it on the 2125. The SMT5600 version installed, no problem. Satellite maps didn't work, so I also tried the generic midp versions. No luck with the satellite photos, but I can still see pizza places that are nearby, maps, etc.

It seems that Google deprecated GLM and substituted GMM. Then they created some download thing that doesn't work with Windows Mobile 5 Smartphone. The clue is where it says:

Google Maps
Sorry, DownloadAppServlet does not
work on your Windows CE.

Windows CE? I think not.

Still, the GMM supported devices list includes Audiovox SMT5600, so WM 2003 SP must be supported.

This guy's blog has an interesting story of hacking the install, though how much this applies to the 2125 is questionable. YMMV

I'm gonna complain to Google as instructed on the GMM site that my MIDP 2.0 device is not supported now. But it worked for GLM.

Yes it's a melon. Want to sell it cheap? J/K

Try again. I just logged in, read mail and logged out of mail.yahoo.com on a 2125 using Pocket Internet Explorer (PIE)

What browser do you have on the 6620, Opera? If so, download the Opera for Mobile trial for Windows Mobile 2003 to see if that works better.

PIE is sort of lame unless you just look at WAP sites.

just went to www.agilemobile.com to download agile messenger and when i clicked on "download now" for mobile 5.0 the browser said the file can not be viewed on this device.
and yes i have opera on the 6620 but i get there using opera and the standard browser. Im going to try the opera for the smt5600 however the smt 5600 has a screen that is nearly half the size of the 2125. I hope it knows what to do with the larger screen rez.

There is a difference between WM5 for Smartphone and WM5 for PPC. PPC software will not work on Smartphone.

Try downloading this to your PC to install Agile.

Opera for WM Smartphone2003 works fine on 2125. The installer is called opera_wmsp_800u1.msi

Many Windows Mobile apps (including Opera and Agile Mesgr) install by downloading them to your PC. Then, connect the phone to PC via Active Sync. Then, run the installer on the PC. It will install the app on your Mobile 5 device.

Don't freak out about this. There WILL be a learning curve and it will take some time. Using this phone does not work the same way you do things on a Nokia.

Have you read the instructions?
