Cingular 8125 - Can I use data and voice at the same time?

I have a cingular 8125. I use Agile messenger for AIM/ICQ/Y! etc... which requires a constant connection to the internet. Whenever I make or recieve a call, the internet connection drops and I get signed out Agile and I have to reconnect. This is quite the inconvienence to me if I'm in the middle of a conversation on my phone through text... and then someone calls.

I've asked a couple people with similiar phones, etc about this problem. Someone told me that It SHOULD be possible, but maybe there is a patch, or setting that I have to change so that when I use Voice, data doesn't disconnect.

Has anyone had experience with this? or know of a solution? Or am I SOL?

Only solution is to go based on WiFi. You can't be connected through edge and talk on the phone at the same time. Sorry!

you won't be able to exchange data and voice at the same time on the mobile.

mybe i never noticed before- but i had a constant data connection with my treo? no issues?

im always signed on agile, ill get a call, end call and next thing i know i get an IM, i dont have to reconnect or resign in, it does it automatically

That seems right- When I had a treo, I used Chatter for email- it required a constant edge connection- i talked away with no issues.

I also did a test- opened up IE and navigated to a website- while the site was downloading- i called myself- it did not go immediately to voicemail- it ringed about 4 times and went to voicemail....
