I never made a 6DR, you mean 6FR?

and Im not sure about the lang stuff, I never really got too much into it.

Technially the flex is a european flex..so maybe thats to blame.

Well, the clocks glitches are due to the skins, and so far I cant find any other versions of those skins. and I dont really want to scrap them, because they are really nice looking.

and yeah, the DRM's arnt much of a difference, but at least its not the same old plain moto icons. I like it..except for the fact that when the flip is closed its hard to see the battery and signal bars. So I am probably going to get another DRM in there..if not go back to the original.

MP3 player should be the same, its a stock one taken from my 6FR pack..so could be the phone. EDIT: You do know that the MP3 players on these 635's take forever to load right? No matter what firmware. Its one of the downsides to that MP3 player.

And why does it give the impression to be unstable..does it lock up, or freeze? Cause it could be due to the 90R...I was never a fan of the firmware, the only thing I liked about it was the reception, but I think its either phone stability..or good reception.

and the lang packs, whats in russian..just the quick notes?

Just wanted to say that I upgraded to this new MP from Yagers and things look good so far. I'll play around with it today to see how it functions but so far thumbs up!

I hesitated to try this one out, as my stock 88R setup was pretty much perfect for my tastes. But I went ahead and tried it anyway for the heck of it. So far, it's been pretty good, there are a few options available that I didn't have previously and I want to thank you for the efforts thus far

A couple of things I want to provide feedback on though. First, there's a problem with the Techno skin while using the video camera. If you go into the Video settings, you can see the wallpaper and image from the camera mixed together. This didn't happen on my 88R so I tried a different skin (Moto) and it fixed it. To me, it's a minute problem but I know it shouldn't happen. Secondly, the alarm burned me due to not being able to use the Continental ringtone. Luckily (but unfortunately) some other posters had the same issue and now I know why, but I'd rather have the system tones enabled and have everything working properly...I never thought the system beep was a big deal anyway. Also, there is the disappearing USB icon in the connection settings. The BT and Sync icons work but when you highlight USB it disappears. I reflashed twice and same thing. And the text message animation is gone as well, all that shows up is a white box. I'm not sure if that's intentional or not though. And lastly, the reception on my particular phone isn't as great as I thought it would be after reading some other comments. The 88R gave me 4-5 bars and was steady, using this MP it fluctuates between 3-5 pretty constantly.

Other than that, I think this is heading in the right direction. I love OperaMini, I never used it until this pack and it makes using the internet enjoyable (God, Moto's stock browser is garbage). I'll keep this on my phone for a few days and try it out on vacation. Leuko, do you have any feedback or know why the particular items I mentioned disappear like that?

Can someone else try writing a message with the T9 input and tell me what language it's in? I'm just wondering if it's only my phone. I text a lot and its way harder without it.

u have to change to english....when in message hit menu and hit entry setup
and change it to itap english...mmmmk?

hey solor im not picking on you....



the different skins causes problems...not all are perfect....it can cause glitches like usb icon to dissappear..etc.....so its not the mp itself just the skins....the alarm ring is any easy fix get p2ktools and change the system tone volume.....yourself. all the little tweaks can be done by yourself and should be done by you....if u dont like something change it, or fix it your self
leuko should not be putting out different version every other week, because u dont like the little things....u have problems with a skin? take it off , add a different one...he did not make the skins....he was jsut so kind to spend the time and put all the things he likes into a mp....
hes just sharing it with us....

nuff ranting for now....

Other issues giving the impression that the phone is unstable:

-USB icon in the connection settings: not animated anymore when selected (the 2 others, BT and Sync icons are fine).

-I confirm for the text message animation: No Animation ! only a white box !!!

-Reception is not as good as I thought at first.

I didn't go over all the phone's menus yet...but i wouldn't be surprised to see other problems.


I think that there has to be another MP to fix that soon....

I know when you turn on animation it will do that...but its probably due to the DRM's I installed...Im not sure why they wont cooperate. But it seems that connections..is the only place thats effected by it.

yeah, the tekno skin(not the stock one right?) has a see through backround..so it sees through to the camera and video camera while in the options list. I dont think its bad in any way, just the way the skin is set up.

and I am debating wether to keep the system tone turned off, and upload those ringtones manaually...or if I should just set it to 01, to get them back..but have a slight beep. I dont really mind it either..but once I didnt have it, and I could turn up the volume without all the annoying bleeps..It was kinda nice.

and yeah..the connection icon glitch is due to the DRM's..I'm gonna have to go back to stock, since they dont want to work properly.

anyways..long story short, I have a wee bit o modding to do, but thats good, gives me something to work on again. So thanks for letting me know about em.

-Probably because I deleted all the pics associated with text messaging to save space...do you really need them?

So far everybody has encountered all the slight problems that I have, and have known about when i released it. I though they were minor ones, and they didnt need too much attention...but if people judge a MP's stability on a few things like this, then Im gonna have to do some alterations.

Actually, it's the Techno skin (the stock Moto skin). Like I mentioned, if the video camera is running and you go into the settings, both the wallpaper and the image from the viewfinder appear, so it looks like the viewfinder is 'tearing' through the wallpaper. I'm thinking that it's particular to that skin because if I go back to the Moto skin it doesn't happen. Or it could just be an isolated occurance on my phone.

bgniko - I didn't mean to attack Leuko at all. The issues like the system tone or anything else that is easily fixed via a seem edit or whatever is really trivial. I know I can fix it myself and I'm not asking Leuko to change it, I'm merely giving an insight from my experience because there's always someone else out there who might be wondering the same things or asking the same questions. I don't want Leuko to change anything that doesn't have to do with 'stability' because it's all personal preference at that point. And I agree, if he does go changing a vast amount of stuff then it really isn't his project anymore but because he put the time and effort into it, I believe he should not have to adjust every little detail. My biggest concern is the disappearing icons and other buggy parts of the pack - Leuko's intention is to make the best pack possible and I think we all can agree that issues like icons disappearing or broken skins should be resolved, if possible. It's up to him, I'm just merely providing feedback.

I think we all want this project to come out as close to perfect as possible since most of us are dedicated to the V635. It will be nice to have a MP that doesn't need a big amount of tweaking and that is constantly being improved and not left to bite the dust. Thanks again, Leuko.

For some reason i cant make a back-up, im only leuko's 90R it starts the backup and hours later there still isnt a bar, i made 1 for 24R that workd fine, what has happened now?

I think we all want this project to come out as close to perfect as possible since most of us are dedicated to the V635. It will be nice to have a MP that doesn't need a big amount of tweaking and that is constantly being improved and not left to bite the dust. Thanks again, Leuko.

ahh, I see. Well I re-did the entire Mp today, i started from scratch and added stuff in. and i just checked and the techno one doesnt do that glitch anymore.


So to everybody else, a re-wroked MP is on its way pretty soon, I'd say it will be done in a few days.. a day if I really crack down on it.

the DRM's will be removed, so there will be no more glitching. and the overall stableness should be a lot better than it already is.

Plus AIM will be a blank slate...so everybody will be able to log in just fine.

Bottom line is....your phone sucks dude...out of all the hundred of PMs you have given me...and all the hundrededs of problems your have asked me for help on...Its pretty obvious. Not to be rude, but you have some serious issues with your comp/phone that need to be professionaly fixed.

Its your phone, buy a new one.

Hey,

First of all, I would just like to say that I love your monster packs, they're amazing, keep up the excellent work. I have found a few problems with the newest 90r file updated 4-26-06 though. I noticed that when I receive a message, nothing appears in the notification. As well, in the phone book, when I go to view categories, they are all blank. Also, when I go to send a mms message, it reaches 76%, then the phone shuts down and restarts. Finally, in the settings>connections menu, the icons start to disappear as you navigate through them. Just some things to keep in mind for future updates. Other than that though, it's excellent. Great job and I look forward to future updates hopefully soon.

PS. These problems may be from my phone alone, so if you know of any way to fix them, I'd really appreciate it. I have tried other flashes though, and they seemed to work fine, and different skins, so I think problem might be this file.

Yeah, the pack was starting to get a tad buggy. So I re-did the entire thing from scratch.

I did it and the phone goes on but the screen is blank. only the external lcd is on. the internal screen is blank. Did I do something wrong?

Well, hopefully he puts it up tonight. I can't wait to get my hands on it and give it a try. Tried is 6FR for a bit and I did like it but the YaGeR 90R has worked the best on my phone for over the past 4 montsh or so and since I was out of town for a couple of weeks, I needed my phone to work perfectly. Keep up the great work leukoplast and we're all waiting patiently for your revised release.

turned out i changed a setting, thats y it would stop at 11, now its at total 100, i could easily get 200, wats goin on?

Its your comp/phone mixed...because heck..you had to flash with flashbackup..and who knows what it could have done.

I only trust FB to do backups..no way in hell would I ever attempt a flash with it.

and the fact that for some reason you cant get RSD to work on your phone, and all these other things leads me to think its your phone. Because if your phone is the ONLY one having these problems..then its common sense that its the phone, not firmware.

and i dont want somebody to read all of this..and see all these bugs and glitches of serious preportions and think its my MP, when it isnt.

Been using ure MP for a day now and just wanted to thank you and give you some suggestions on the next version. I only read the last 2 pages of this thread so sorry if some of these have already come up!

1) Alarm doesnt work: you set an alarm.... and it doesnt ring was late for work today

2)when you go into the messeges menu, the voicemail txt doesnt show up

3)It would be cool if you could change the pic of the outside display when the phone is open... like right now its like this silver and yellow X

4) When your sending a txt msg... to like a recipient... and its in your phone book..what i used to do with my 4BR is just press 7 to get to the P's and look for a name starting with p... when i try that now..... its in like a different language

5) this might have nothing to do with your MP but i cant find the menu where i could choose what ring style it goes into when i charge my phone... and what ring style it is when i take it out of charging

6) is there a way to change the text "Call Divert" to Call Forwarding???

7) Rythym Lights are kinda cool... but some patterens are like the same... whats up with that /??

other that that.. the phone is cool.....

-You can do this, along with most of these things. Use P2ktools, or another editing program and change the 512.gif(under mobile) to another picture of your liking, and it will use it.

4) When your sending a txt msg... to like a recipient... and its in your phone book..what i used to do with my 4BR is just press 7 to get to the P's and look for a name starting with p... when i try that now..... its in like a different language

-Go and do that again, when the word comes up in the diff lang, hit menu then goto Entry setup, and change the primary to I-tap english.

5) this might have nothing to do with your MP but i cant find the menu where i could choose what ring style it goes into when i charge my phone... and what ring style it is when i take it out of charging

-I dont think there is a way to specify that, at least as far as I know. It just sets it automatically to the loud setting, so whatever your loud ringer is..then thats what it will use. and you can edit that under ring styles > loud detail

6) is there a way to change the text "Call Divert" to Call Forwarding???

-I dont think so.

7) Rythym Lights are kinda cool... but some patterens are like the same... whats up with that /??

-They are from soembody here on the boards, one will repeat, and the other will only do it once then stop. thats why two in a row will look the same.

Glad your enjoying it, and if I can get the new update out tonight, make sure to give it a try, it will be a lot less glitchy.

1)4 sum reason the 3 main ring tones dont work that is y ur alarm isnt working, change the alarm tone to another
3)the outside pic can be changed, with another program, cant remember which 1
4)u need to press the hash key when searchin 4 a contact, that puts it into the proper english, like in txtin
didnt know u could do no 5
7) they do look sort of the same, but they r different, anyway u can download and then upload ur own
the rest i dont know or cant b arsed at this time im sure leuko will have some answers

I don't know if you're already done with completing the new pack but there's one feature I was wondering if you could add or not. With the Yager mod, you could hit Menu + * and it would lock the keys on the phone. I noticed that this feature is not included with this pack. It was a handy feature and something that other phones have. What do you think? Also, I noticed today when I was creating a playlist in the Sounds menu that picking the songs does not give you a little checkmark next to the song like previous MPs. It's definitely adding it to the playlist but you can't see from a glance which songs have been picked or not. Might be a bug but not sure.

I figued out the wierd language thing... when ure searching for an entry in your address book if you go into menu options and click entry setup.... you can make the default language itap eng! and then ...to fix the searching thing.. when your in the adress book....if you go into the menu and click setup... you can change the search method to 'jump to' instead of find!!!

I love it - folks would rather apply a whole MP rather than just flip one bit. From xlr8's seem map (that seems to go unread):

Seem 0032, offset 29 - bit 1: Settings > Security > Lock Keypad (1 on, 0 off)

If one's too scared to seem edit, one prolly shouldn't be messing with MPs

I don't know if you're already done with completing the new pack but there's one feature I was wondering if you could add or not. With the Yager mod, you could hit Menu + * and it would lock the keys on the phone. I noticed that this feature is not included with this pack. It was a handy feature and something that other phones have. What do you think? Also, I noticed today when I was creating a playlist in the Sounds menu that picking the songs does not give you a little checkmark next to the song like previous MPs. It's definitely adding it to the playlist but you can't see from a glance which songs have been picked or not. Might be a bug but not sure.

Not sure why you would want to lock a flip phone...kinda deems it usless since the flip is closed when in your pocket...and traditionaly flip phones dont need to be locked since there is no way that the keys will get pressed by accident unless its open. But i guess I could add that feature..it wouldnt hurt anything.

and the playlist thing is probably a glitch of the Mp3 player, so it should be fixed with the new version coming out, because it has a stock Mp3 player, not tampered with.

Yeah for those people who do not like the "Russian" lang pack. Why dont you "Search" for Analog's LP0003 for the v635.... But that means flashing just the LP and not the whole MP........So be warned......

Actually, I do seem edits already....no one scared on this end. BTW, I have already made this seem edit and increased the earpiece volume because I wanted it a little bit louder. The only reason I mentioned it in the first place is because it might be a feature that others who haven't applied this MP may want. Please don't assume that people are automatic newbs when making suggestions.

Ok, I finally had the time to check this out. I uploaded your seems, it does a bit better, barely made out the word on my outer lcd screen. So, it is not a seem problem. It's a font problem. The font looks like they are in too much bold, it over laps the characters, so you can't see them clearly.

It does that with my phone too, its just the wrting is very small..not sure if you could enlarge it or not.

I know they aren't needed, and not having them saves space, but it bugs me having that blank box when a text message is sent or received. Hmm..so when you get a text..it doesnt have the animated envelope?

I didnt think I deleted that, I just thought I got rid of the animations you could insert in texts.

what you can do, is make a backup of your current flash, then reflash with another MP, use P2K tools, and download all the pictures out of the pictures folder to your computer, then just re-copy them all back in to your current one after restoring it.

seem map is not that difficult

just save it in Notepad then hit Ctrl+F to open the word search, type the word in the search dialog(microphone) and then hit enter until you find what you want.

no science there

Its done...I just got side tracked with a few other firmwares..trying to get them to work.

and its not that big of an update, its just a cleaned up version of the last one, hopefully with no bugs because it was a clean start MP.

I'd say tomarrow night I should have it up if I dont work on any other Firmware projects.

Got some more good news.

I managed to get the original 90R and original Flex that came with it working!

So after this minor update, which I will post tonight, the next version 1.3 will be this flash and flex, also comes with lang pack 0039:

R474_G_08.48.90R_01_LP0039_GCPU635T673ZP121

As far as I know, this GC flex, is the latest out. So you all will have the latest firmware..and flex avaliable for the V635 once I finish it. And I have been runnign it for a day or so now, and its doing great, seems to be stable, so here's to hoping!

But I may need somebody to test out a stock version of it on their phone to see if it works.

flashed to mine, it works...but Ive done so much modding..I could have upgraded something that some might not have on their phones.

So I will keep you all updated on that.

1.2.3 firmware works great for me, and I'm really excited to see the new flex and I really like the swith to the 0039 language pack! I assume most of you don't care, but I often send text messages in different languages, mostly english and german, but also some french to some people so 0039 is the only LP for me. Ok, first of all, are you using Rapidshare correctly? It's actually kinda complicated to figure out, I think. So, if that's the problem, here's how it works:
1.) Click the link, and Rapid share opens a new page.
2.) In the right hand column at the bottom is a button for the 'free' download
3.) Click that button and it will load a new page, telling you how long you'll have to wait for your download to start.
4.) After the countdown gets to zero, you have to enter 3 letters/digits into a box as a security thing and then hit enter.
5.) The download should now start.

If this doesn't work, pm me and I'll try and email it to you, but since it's big I'd rather not if we can avoid it.

I always changed my keypad volume to 0, but still once in awhile, I still hear this faint click noise from using the keypad.

I also get that sometimes, almost sounds like plastic flexing/clicking, but comes from the speaker. Had it on the last mp as well sometimes.. Doesn't bother me too much, but it would be nice to figure out what the hell it was..

All you have to do is take out the battery and restart it, then it will work perfectly after that.

and yeah, I think when you change somethings volume to 0 it has that clicking..popping sound.

I think most of that comes from turing down the system tone to 0. a little annoying, but worth it to not have the loud bleeps.

2- there aren't any or you can not create MMS templates

3- there is no number for voicemail in the message centre. by that i mean, you can not tell how many voicemail messages are there. the space is blank.
whenever someone leaves a voicemail, i get this text from 0000000001 and it says, for example, 555-555-5555 called you.

is #3 your doing and part of the update?

- Yeah, there is a seem to acitvate the number next to the VM, check XL8's list and do a search for voice mail. And the @ signs from voicemail are turned off..but it does not work reliably, so every once in a while somebodys phone will react differently to that, and you will recive them still.

-Not too sure, I dont remember tweaking any VM settings.

You should be able to back all those up with Mobile Phone tools.

Phone tools will backup your phone book, and datebook, along with pictures, videos, sounds.

but that other stuff,well your just gonna have to redo it,

Nope, even with a MP you cant extract anything from the flex unless its on your phone.

Can anyone make a MP with the 0031 language pack? I know where to find it, on http://www.planetmotox.net/download...flash_MOTOX.rar but it's for razr, and i don't know how to make it work on 635. Please help...

Ok, try this, but try and verify first that a language pack from a different phone will be compatible with the v635 if you can! I would guess that a lanugage pack would be the same between an R374 and an R474, but if you could find the 0031 lp from another R474 flash that would be safer. Here's how it works:

1.) Get SHXCodec
2.) If it gives you a midas.dll error, open up windows/system/system32 and drag the midas.dll file (from the shxcodec folder) onto regsrv32.exe in the system32 folder.
3.) Open up flash with the LP that you want and click 'split file' This copies out all of the individual components of the flash. Delete all of the other files except the language pack file.
4.) Open the flash for YOUR PHONE, split it, and replace the language pack file there with the lp file that you just obtained from the other flash.
5.) Click the button to copy the files into a new .shx file, and then flash it to your phone.
*.) BE SURE THAT YOU USE A FLASH FOR YOUR PHONE, DON'T F THAT PART UP!!!

Well, I've tried doing this, but the phone won't start. So, I figured I should try to edit the original language pack. I took the LP from razr, exported romanian language to a txt file, then imported it to the original LP(instead of polish or something like that). Packed everything up again, reflashed, but still the same problem. The phone won't restart so I had to reflash to leuko's MP which works fine. Still, I'd really like romanian, especially for itap.

P.S. When I try to take a photo using the built-in camera, and the memory card is out, it gives me an error, saying that it needs it in order to save the picture(in other words, it cannot save pictures in the phone memory, no matter what I do). Not suh a big bug, but thought it's worth mentioning.

If you have the resolution set to high(1.2mp) you can only save them to the transflash card.

Thatīs bad news then. Flashbackup doesnīt let my friend restore his phone with the backup he made, it has important info in it. Some ideas why it wouldnīt restore??? Thank DJ Leukoplast.

Lang packs, and DRMs are already set in .shx format..so you just flash it straight to your phone. You dont need to dissect it.

I've had some bad experiences with LP's, so the next update will either have lang pack 002e or 0039.

Wouldnt there be a checksum error..since its not the same LP as the one before?

messing with shx files can be tricky, and quite complicated if you dont know what your doing. The LP will have to have the same start and end adresses as the one before, Usually they are the same, but if it isnt, it will not work.

and as for the camera problem, its because the setting is set to 1.2 Megapixl, and the only way to save those is with a TF card, just change the resolution to the next one down, and It will work.

Did this happen after he used those DRMS?

kay kay...Now i just got a phone and it has no transflash in it, nor will mine because im selling it, but when the option is set to take pictures to the phone's storeage device it wont take the picture. Says some stuff about no trans...solution?

If you are new to modding, particularly with flashing your phone, then you will want to flash to Leukoplast 90R!

Why? Because, flashing the phone with a monster pack that is poorly assembled will lead to a loss of many features and incompatibility with your provider. Leukoplast's 90R shows that he has spent a good deal of time to put together a solid MP that has great functionality.

Really, thank you for your great contribution to the community. If you ever need someone to help with your efforts, please count me in !

He didnīt flash any DRM, he tried other MP which he didnīt like (88r), he tried to restore but flashbackup wouldnt do it, so he flashed it with yagers, still flashbackup wouldnīt restore his backup. Iīm Gonna ask him for some more info.

By the way, I didnīt find the Spyderfreaks DRM sticky on the motomafiaaaa, do you have the link, if itīs not much to ask

Hmm, that is odd. Maybe because when I made the MP, it was set to 1.2 MP and for some reason..got stuck and messed up somewere, even though you may have deselected it.

well, no matter, the next version with a different flex should be done soon. and i will make sure not to have it pre-set to the highest reso.

Hmm odd, there has been a rash of people lately who cant seem to get FB to work right, not too sure what the problem could be.

and it looks as if you have found it at MM(saw your post)...it was the first sticky

Very nice work leukoplast, I've fooled around with a lot of flashes and yours is one of the really good ones.

Just a couple of things (using the latest flash atm), for some reason the browser is acting up. I use my own WAP gateway (HoTTProxy.org) and it looks like this browser just doesn't like it. I can connect to my server, enter user/pass just fine but that is as far as it goes. Looking at my gateway's logs it looks like the browse always puts a period infront of any URL requests, i.e. wap.google.com shows up as .wap.google.com which I think is causing this problem. EIther than or the browser has problems with redirect requests, what browser version is your mod using and have you modified the browser at all?

I tried this with Yager's mod (used his for a long time with my own tweaks) and that browser loads it up without any problems. Any clues as to what is happening ?

Also another thing is the skin that the mod comes with (as default), the left, right, top and bottom soft keys act up with some shortcuts, for example mine refuses to launch "Messages" shortcut from either of the soft keys, but it seems everything else work.

Looking forward to your next release, keep up the good work.

Still, isn't there even the slightest chance that you would include romanian in the next release? I don't care about the menu language, all I want is itap.

just flashed last night and I found some little bugs:

-in the Phonebook, you know that if you press a number, it will begin a search. Well, by default it shows some weird characters. You have to press # until you see the abc2 Entry Mode to make a proper search. Oh, and yeah, my language is set to English. It actually doesnt matter cuz it happens with other languages.

-in Settings->Connections, when you select one option, the previously highlighted icon dissapears. It happens with the icons only, the options are still there.

-Transflash was acting funny for some reason. After taking a pic or video, when I was about to check them on the Multimedia menu it said "Memory not available" or something like that. Had to restart the phone and change the skin. Never happened to me when the phone was in 6CR.

-The last skin, invXenonAB, got stuck(twice) for some reason. I think it was related to the previous bug.

No real biggie. I'll try to duplicate the last 2 bugs. If that skin is faulty maybe you can fix it or get rid of it. That would be too bad tho, since it's a good one.

I didnt mod the browser at all, and I dont know anything about what version it is, I cant suft the web on my phone with prepaid..so I never got into it, or have looked into it at all. So I cant help you there.

and yeah, I have been getting some talk that that skins up, down, left, right keys are acting up.

Probably just a problem with that skin.

I dont really feel the need to put it on, the phone doesnt require it to run smoothly.

So if you want it, you will have to flash it to your phone. Sorry.

well I dont use any proxy and have no problems with the browser, except for the weird chracters. Gotta use the abc2 Entry Mode there too.
