Hi,

Came across this HK shop on Ebay:
http://stores.ebay.com/jpeasycom

I am planning to buy a SH703f Sharp, but
am unsure about the seller since he's got 0 feedback.

What do you think? Any opinion welcome.

forget about it.

+1, especially with someone with 0 feedback. i bought my first 703SHf off of ebay and the seller only had about 3 recent feedback from buyers but about 30 from sellers. i took the risk of losing my 275USD but got lucky with a very nice seller. take a look at kms-lai's sig, it might get you somewhere......might be a little more than ebay but you know you'll get the product along with excellent service.

Posted by: kms-lai

as majidekeitai has mention go for someone who is highly recommended, even if it cost a little more, or take the risk, you may get skimmed. If you check some of the phones he is selling, eg the motorola m1000, it will not work outside of japan the 3G will work, only if the phone is unlocked, but the do co mo network will not. the A1000 is the same phone and works out side of japan.

on topic

all the info he has provided is useless, why put out a list of info that is not related to the phone, he talks about all the network frequency, GPRS, Edge etc, i don't think buyers want to know about those, but only info concerning the actual phone.

this is the actual info he has posted on ebay, dont you think it's over the top and misleading for ppl who knows nothing about phone when making their first purhase:-

happy reading, did you enjoy it.

sorry my mistake, it does work with gsm and has wlan, other than that, it's is very similar to the A1000

I think, the long text is simply a copy/paste from the manufacturer's website...

Other than this, I am quite suspicious because on all the pictures, for the various models, you see those piles of boxes... it's a little too much I think.
Plus the price is much cheaper than others. That's what attracted me in the first place. I don't want to spend 300 bucks for a 703SHf (it doesn't even have a 2mp camera...)

If anyone could give me a good advice on where to buy, that'd be nice. I tried the umobile site but it's down at the moment...

thanks alot to all of view. I am also curious of people who actually bought this 703SHf, is the T9 really working? Can you put good quality mp3 on it or only 128kbps? that sort of question...

Posted by: kms-lai

yes it's a copy and paste job, but he mixed info, with the phone info and telecommunication details which is misleading.
the top and bottom part contains info on the phone, the middle part is just BS.

you can PM timsta, he can help you.

not to sure about t9, if the phone has jap f/w you will have to use SD audio, for other version f/w you can use mp3 upto 192kbps.

I do have one for sell in US brand new..
check your personal message

Posted by: in2sky

I am not sure here about japanese or "other" firmware.
When you buy an unlocked phone, is the new firmware japanese or else?
About SD audio: what is it exactly, like 128kbps maximum or something?
It's true that'd be a bummer to have to listen to bad quality music on the phone.$
šthanks!

a unlocked phone can be either japf/w, euro f/w or hk f/w, they are two different things.

sd audio is secure mp3 that many jap phone like to use., you will need a special card reader and sd jukebox program to convert mp3 to sd audio.

exactly.. if it looks fishy. smells fishy.. its probably is fishy.

on the other hand.. i smell good! :P

Posted by: in2sky

So, like the european f/w is ok with this or all f/w are the same regarding mp3s. I mean when you think of euro phones you just drag n drop the mp3s and that's it.
Is this the same on other models, like say, 904T?

I don't get your point

Posted by: Timsta

i htink what he means is... mp3 playback on most euro phones.. consists of drag and drop onto the memory card and into the proper folder and they can play. whereas.. japanese based phones.. require work before playing the mp3

Posted by: kms-lai

well thank tim for the answer.

and the 904t uses a different format, and requires you to do conversion, for jap version.

Posted by: Timsta

yup. thats right. it uses a software made by Toshiba. and there's no euro firmware out for the toshiba's for you to flash either.
