Pebl U6 Sidekey problems

I got someone i know with a sidekey problem. They click but there unresponsive they dont work or at least they dont show on the phone. Could it be a hardware problem or a software problem? The phones sidekey ribbons are perfect with no scratches or cuts in them.

definitely sounds like a hardware issue if the phone is new. when closed, the top left key should cause the display to light and toggle between clock and ring style display. when in ring style, the bottom left should toggle ring styles: loud, soft etc. when open, the top should adjust ring volume, the bottom voice record and the right key voice activated dialing.

No response but when i checked the sidekey flex cable its fine and no damage whats so ever

Was the PDS repaired or restored? There have been some situations on past phones where the PDS SEEMs are tied to certain hardware buttons (i.e. joystick)

The PDS was repaired since the phone will killed by a flash.

The phone was done by me with smartmoto and the testpoint method. is there any fix? should i flash it with a smartmoto flash not a flash from motox?
