Downloading Audiobooks - need help

Hello - I'm a newbie, just got my VX8100 a couple of days ago. I bought the Music Essentials kit and a 512 mini-SD card and sucessfully managed to download an audiobook from my public library's Website and transfer it to my VX8100, however, when I try to play it, I get the following error:

PLAYER ERROR

Unable to play
[title of book]
mid.wma

I enabled my phone's mp3 player - but I was able to listen to music before I did this. I saved the audiobook to my PC using the extension .mid. It still transferred as mid.wma, though.

I'm able to listen to music, but the audiobook won't work! What can I do?
Thanks!

I am not sure about the WMA format for an audiobook. I would try to encode it as an MP3 format (use Audacity or something similar to convert). Then transfer the file to your MiniSD card. That should work then.

Thanks, I'll try it! That audacity audio editor and recorder looks fantastic!

Just to revive an old thread - has anyone had success with overdrive audiobooks to an 8100?

looks like the overdrive audiobooks are just audiobooks in wma format with DRM. I think you would need to strip off the DRM before it can play on the 8300.
