i was trying to upgrade to a higher firmware One Day *Cough Cough*, (stuck on 24R) but as soon as i tryed, it would fail a few secs later, everything IS running correctly, repeat IS, other people then told be it must be locked, so how would i go about unlocking it? my phone is becoming annoying to use

i know there is quite a few people out there who have unlocked as i can see it through the phones that they have, and as im there what is unbranding, putting home made not moto firmware in?

V551 UNLOCKING:

Okay - I've done this on my wife's v551 and it worked perfectly! You can unlock your v551 yourself. I've read posts on this before, but wanted to clearly outline my experience and document it on the forum.

Step 1 - (this is the key) Download and flash bootloader 07d0. You are essentially downgrading your bootloader, because the newer bootloaders that come on the v551 do not allow you to properly backup your phone. Thanks to djnick - you can get the bootloader here:

Step 2 - (must do!!!) Using random's Flashbackup, make both a full and pds backup. This is a must - I can't stress that. If you mess things up and don't have an original pds backup - your in for a headache.

Get Flashbackup here in the download section of Motomodders:

Step 3 - Make a copy of the PDS backup to work on. Make sure you don't work on the original!!! Open the copy up in PDS Editor. Can't remember where I got this software, but you can find it by searching for pdseditor.rar. Go to the History tab and select seem 00AB - hit the Step Back button. Save the file, hit Okay when it asks for the format (default). Then using Flashbackup, Restore the PDS file to the phone.

SIM lock is now gone.

You can verify the SIM lock before and after the procedure using another carrier's SIM - or by using certain software. I used Radiocomm, but you can also verify using TTC (Triplet Tool Compilation).

V635 UNLOCKING:

I know this has been posted before on other forums and threads - but thought it should be clearly done in the R47 Forum for all those asking for it.

Step 1: I downloaded the bootloader on my v635 prior to this procedure, so I am unsure if it works with the stock or newer bootloaders. I am running 07D0. If you want to downgrade your bootloader first (this is what worked for me), flash it using RSD lite or PST. You can get the bootloader here:

Step 2: I should also mention that I believe an Unlocked Flex is required for this to work. So if you have not already flashed your Locked stock firmware to an unlocked/unbranded MonsterPack - now is the time if you want to continue. I can't confirm this, but it's what I've read. I was running 6FR unlocked monster pack when this worked for me. You can get the 6FR monsterpack here on Motomodders:

Step 3: Highly recommend making a complete backup as well as PDS backup using Flashbackup. There is a great tutorial on how to do this by djnick located here:

Step 4: Now for the actual procedure - which is extremely simple... You need to get Final.exe program. It's located here:

a) Turn Off your Phone
b) Plug in your phone to USB cable
c) Start up phone in BL mode (hold * & # and then Power on)
d) Open Final.exe
e) Press the button (the only button the program has...)
f) It will give you some message - click Yes. Then you will see the status go to SUCKsesfull and Done!
g) Reboot

Your Done. You should now have an unlocked v635. Verify with software or another Carrier's SIM. Post your success stories.

*** I am not responsible for messing up your phone whatsoever. This has worked for me, but I've been reading and messing with phones for quite some time. If you decide to try this, please follow all procedures and recommendations. ***

thanks, but i cant seem to download anything from rapidshare, like before, ive got flash back up and pds editor, but it doesnt back up probably because i cant download and flash the 07d0 bootloader, have been searching high and low in the thread (dreamhosters/rapidshsare) can some1 provide me with a link or copy for the 07d0 bootloader and the final.exe? or email it to me

How would i check what 'bootloader' im on, and if i do have it would it successfully flash???

Why cant you download from rapidshare..do you actually know how to?

you cant just save the link, you have to go there, and go through a few things to get the file.

you on AOL?

No, not on AOL.
Scroll down to Free, choose alpha or omega (tried with both), enter the 3 numbers/letters, (sometimes a counter)
Download-session invalid. Please click here.

Possible reasons:

Download-session expired. Direct-links last a few minutes for free users and a few days for premium-users.
You requested this download-session from a different IP than yours. If you use AOL, try a different browser.
Now u tell me, why cant i download the files

use IE or firefox. Aol is just the connection you can still use other browsers.

and its possible you have some kind of retarded lock on your comp disabling downloading.

Na cant be a lock checked them all still cant download, the thing is i could download from BigUpload.com, so definately nothing to do with a download lock

Hi, I have a v635 on t-mobile uk. I was originally on 88r. So I flash to 6fr from motomodders site, the unlocked one. Then I boot into bootloader mode (blank screen but windows detect the phone) then i use the 'final' program, which detects the phone and looks sucessful. But after this the phone reboots itself and then I get the flex error subsidy locked message, even if i still have my tmobile sim inside. I have now retried with sim out, sim and transflash out, reflash, downgrade to 07d0 and flash then reflash, and still I am getting a flex error subsidy lock. Please help someone, I don't know what else to do...

Well, followed the proceduer but didn't get success.

Tried both Flexflash and the Monster Pack from motomodders, my V635 (from Rogers) still ask me the unlock code when I put a SIM card from other provider.

I'd heard there are different versions of the Final.exe; Most of the file you can downloaded is for V80\v220\c450\c550\c650 model, but it's not working on V635. Not sure is that real or not...

Looks like I have no choose to paid someone unlock it... ;-(
