Where can I buy a hydraulic jack for a lowered car? I have about 4" of clearance from the jacking point to the ground and I can't seem to find any hydraulic jacks that will fit.

this is what my budy does... look for a small ramp that you would drive ur car over... and than you car raises up a few inches.. and than you use which ever jack to jack it up...

I usually just use blocks of wood (scrap 2x4's). Park on top of them and you're golden. Keep a piece in your trunk also in case you get a flat. Learned that the hard way

That's extremely unsafe IMO

That trick has worked for me ever since I had my Prelude dropped.. no problems. My S is even lower, and the trick still works just fine. 6 years, no problem. *crosses fingers*

now put it on the wood THEN jack it up and I'd be fine, but I'd never go under anything held up my 2x4's

why not just use a race jack?

Price difference might be a concern. You can either use the floor jack at home, or you have to go buy another jack.

haha in cause u dont even need a jack just go under and do some oil change !!!.. lol..

Yes, drive on top of the piece of wood, then jack it up. That should give enough clearance for the jack to roll under.

Sorry, too early in the morning to finish a sentence. I'll take it as a compliment that you guys think I can fit under the car with just a 2 x 4.

Here's the jack you should look at. It's only 3.5 inches tall at the saddle about $170USD

Posted by: WoNGsTeR

lol man for $170?.. i'll just stick to the 2x4 and my 20 dollar jack lol ....

Well to some, its worth it because it is easy for them to transport and only takes like 3 pumps to reach the top height. But for myself, I would also use the wood blocks.

Not only do you want a low sadle, you want one where it doesn't rise up if your jacking point is further in (or if you have a long nose).

used my stock jack.. .fortunately got a spare canadian tire jack as spare... the thing collapsed =p

Oh man, our MB C280 jack is insanely dangerous. I don't know wtf MB was thinking when they though of placing that type of jack with that car.

Most European cars come with a widowmaker standard.

Like wtf, couldn't they include something SAFE? ******* thing is MESSED up.

Atleast with the yankee cars, you get the one that looks like two triangles and it squeezes together to push the car up, the damn Benz thing feels like the car's gonna teeter and fall over so easily.

Posted by: evilgabbie

the benz thing looks like a |_| shaped metal approx 2.5 inchs x 2.5 inchs

I guess Germans never have to change their tires...

That's why the warning on your jack says, "Do not place yourself under a vehicle only held up by a jack. Always use at least two jack stands to support the vehicle."

At least mine does.
