Strange issue with prepadi Cingular on 703SHf

I just got my second 703SHf and everything seems to be working fine. The only thing I noticed is that when I receive an SMS, there is no ringtone. I swapped SIM's and it's fine so my conclusion is it's the SIM or has to do something with the prepaid Cingular plans.
Would anyone happen to use the prepaid Cingular service? I also noticed a small symbol next to the [G] mark, right above the reception bars. Its a light blue which looks like it has a red handle and inside of it, whatever it is, if you connect it to the handle looking thingy, it also resembles a headphone. All settings are exactly the same as my other one but no luck.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

it looks like you are roaming? check the network settings of your new phone with the old phone. I believe whe ni sent the phone to you i left it in gsm settings.
it looks like a briefcase right, the icon?

yeah, it does look like a briefcase. i will take a look at the network settings tonight but don't think that's the actual cause of the ringtone not working for messages
thanks Tim!

i went into the network settings and changed it to match mine but it's still the same
oh well, i guess it's something to do with the prepaid cingular sim card. BTW would you know if I get the MMS settings to work if i can MMS my friends in Japan? thanks.

well.. ppl have reported sending mms.. and receiving having issues.. you get various reports of it working and not working

coo, thanks. maybe i'll give it a try. my current phone didn't have the mms package (company phone) so i guess i'll add and see if it works.

i think thats a big issue right there. get that mms activated!@

I just received my package from Japan today
. Got the desktop charger, LCD remote and the Panasonic Card Reader all for less than 100USD shipped. Its so nice and convenient to have friends in Japan
. The desktop charger is a must I think because the flimsy cover feels like it's going to break after too much use. The LCD remote was acutally bigger than I thought but this too a must if you want to use your own headphones + the LCD is nice too. The Panasonic Card Reader I haven't opened yet as I'm still at work but hope to get some good use with it.
As for that blue briefcase thing, I went on a trip over the weekend and noticed it on my phone as well so you are right Timsta, it is roaming. Well, I have no clue why my other 703SHf is displaying this. I made the Netork Operator appear and it does say Cingular so it shouldn't be roaming. I even reselected Cingular from the Network Settings but still no luck. Anyone have any suggestions?
