I can get the sony xplode Sony CDX-GT500 for the same price as the Pioneer DEH-P4800MP i always used pioneer and have a dood experience with them.. but my friend who is marketing manager told me that the GT500 is better than the pioneer 4800 .. i never had any experience with sony ...

Anyone? what should i do ?

hmm im actually getting a gt300 because i hear the gt500 is cheaper...but you gotta buy alot of excess things for it and i guess its kind of a drag, but that might be your thing. i got a geo metro, so a stereo with aux in is all i need so i can play my ipod yauuhhhzzz

i hear sony stereos suck though, so i guess just go with pioneer. Everyone told me to get a pioneer but im just a sony kind of guy

I have a 4800mp and i love it. works very well with my 1500w system (2 12" power acoustic subs). I also have the pioneer ipod adapter, its awesome, worth the investment.

Go for the 4800mp if you already haven't chosen. It is a far better deck for the money. Sony Xplod head units have gone down hill really fast ever since they quit their Mobile ES line about 6 years ago.

pioneer has a better fm receiver. if you listen to the radio often, id stick with the pioneer.

jeenyus: the mobile es was the best line ever!!!!!!! the explode now looks too showy, im more into the subtle style of the mobile es. a very solid line

i finally decided getting the pioneer one i decided to add 20 bucks more and get the Pioneer DEH-P5800MP. i think is worth it .. thanks for the replys...what do you think?
