replacement case for 8125?

hi, my 8125 fell out of my backpack a couple minutes ago and the corner got chipped. This is really going to bother me to even the point where I would rebuy the phone.

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement for the main shell of the 8125? I already called Cingular and they can't help me.

Wirelessly posted (whatever the next lines says: Nokia6270/2.0 (03.53) Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0)

Sell it to me and buy another one. Or just deal with it

I'll reask the question. My 8125 slipped out of my hand and hit the pavement today. It survived very well, actually. But the cosemetic (and emotional) scratches will bother me.

Any ideas? I (and lastrain) can't be the only crazy people on this board. :-)

Same thing happened to me...on ebay do a search for 8125 housing. A seller on there is selling the housing for roughly 39.99. Good Luck

Would scratches/dings/nicks invalidate warranty returns?

Not necessarily, if the reason for the warranty is *valid*.

But I found some info here that might be of use to you. I am not sure they sell them, but HTC America's Houston office phone number is listed at that link.

I am going to call them tomorrow and see about getting a new external housing. I am also going to inquire about the compatibility of other housings if they sell them. I would like to switch back and forth between an 8125 and an MDA housing if they are interchangable.

Ahhh - there is some interest here. Thanks for the info. This looks promising.

Richy - keep us in the loop on the HTC call.

kinda expensive though
and in case you don't know, Cingular 8125 is exactly the same as Dopod 838 that are sold in Asia.

I just looked through the Service manual, it intimidated the hell out of me . This is one phone that will keep its factory appearance!
