Hey HoFoers... was hoping you could help.

I'm looking for a phone (preferrably bar form factor) with the following features:

Megapixel camera
EDGE
Bluetooth
4 hr. Battery life minimum
Good RF

What's the availability like on the w810? That'd be a nice phone. I'm looking at the Nokia 6682 and 6230 and the SLVR (though the 6230 and SLVR don't have mp cameras).

The 6682 is getting cheaper and cheaper on Amazon. I think its down to $50AR

What are the more known issues with the 6682? I'm seriously considering that phone along with the 6230. The w810 would be awesome but availability seems tough.

There were different issues across the board when it first came out. Much of that has been cleared up with firm ware upgrades which the newest ones will have. The major complaint I heard across the board, although no problem with me, is the memory. Compared to the 6620 the memory is very low. However its really only an issues if you plan on have opera open, using the mp3 and have agile running at the same time. So unless your one of those crazy people who tries to do 10 things at once you will be just fine. I recommend the 6682.

Thanks for that response. I normally don't do a million things on my phone at once. I'm really considering the 6682 over anything else. How's the battery life on it?

The battery life is great, just as long as you make sure you close out the programs when you are done using them. Series 60 phones are much like computers where if you do not close out a program it will continue to run in the back round. I am always hearing from people that there battery life sucks while they have the internet and a game still running in the back round. That will continue to drain your battery to keep those open.

Well, as sweet as the SE w810 is, I think I'm going to wait until the price on it goes down a bit. I don't really need or want it that badly.... *cough*

Anyway, I've decided to go with the 6682. After reading numerous reviews, comments, and trash-talk all over the internet, I figured it's an okay way to go.

Well, I bought the 6682. Haven't done much with it yet, I got it a few hours ago and I just plugged it in to charge.

Thanks for all the advice and such here. It's a nice looking phone and pretty easy to use, too (I was toying with the one at Cingular on display).

You should've found this thread a few days ago! I'm actually pretty happy with my 6682, I've been messing with it for a few hours now, but I'll keep your offer in mind should something happen.

How do you know when they're open? I'm having a hard time browsing the owner's manual for this info.

too late now, but the lg vx9800 from verizon is a bar phone with horizontal flip b/c of the qwerty keyboard, it's pretty nice and has the features you were looking for, except the EDGE.

but you got your phone already, so hope you enjoy it

Not quite sure how i feel about LG phones. It wouldn't have worked out anyway because i an with Cingular. Thanks, though.
