Hey! I have a question, is it possible to unlock locked rintones on motorola phones? I have the best ringtones on my V551 thart arn't availible anymore on the website I downloaded them from and I really want them on my Razr. Is this possible? Thx

Yes, it's possible. Use a program called P2K tools and you can change the file properties of anything on your phone. Once you remove the "system" property from the file, you can freely copy it. You can also delete it, but be careful, as doing that can corrupt your ringtone database. More info can be found here and in other forums, now that you know what program to search for.

Isn't there some way to copy the MID files right off the phone? I did this about a year ago with my RAZR (don't know if there's a difference between the phone the OP mentioned or not) with some sort of utility that would basically let me walk through the entire filesystem. The names were non-descriptive i.e. ring0, ring1, ring2 etc. so the actual names must be defined in some other file. So I just copied all the MID's down to my PC and played through them until I found the ones I wanted.

Hello Dach!

I just download P2K tools and there were several programs mixed in with the P2K zip file I had found. Which program do you use to unlock the old mp3 Ringtones?

You can use P2kman or p2kcomander either one will work.....

I wanted to know what program with in P2K tools do you use to unlock the locked ringtones and graphics on my old Motorola V551?

I just upgraded to a new motorola phone and a lot of the graphics as well as a few ringtones are no longer available.
