all sharp fones are gsm theres no way to convert... even if there was it'll be hard GSM runs on 850/900/1800/1900 depending on the phone. and cdma is 1.23Mhz ... so kinda hard ......

oh ahah.. i wonder which one he has too.. hrmm.. various vodafones can be unlocked.. mostly in general... sharp and toshibas.. smitty. so if you could be more specific.. you would probably help us alot in helping you.

Smitty? nope only sharp me sharp fan

Think its v603. And its not gsm. Japan operates(or did operate) on cdma or something similar. No spot for a sim card. Just wondered if I could do something with nam programming so verizon or another us carrier would accept it.

no.. the v603sh can't be used over here. i modified one for awhile without much luck to use it on networks here. its a great phoen tho. u can use it to watch tv.

Thanks. Thats all I needed to know. How do you use it for watching tv? Without a network?

just pull out the attenane and scan thru the frequencies.. its real easy. you get about 10 channels or 12.
