it's headed to the bin because you can't mod it? wow!!! there's an empty bin in my house. let me know if i can help.

historically, SE users do not do much software modding. Perhaps because the phones are so awesome and flexible out of the box. Apart from reflashing for different regions and versions you don't get much else. Go to www.davinciteam.com to see where the geeks hang out. Maybe you'll get some pointers there.

Yeah, I was a Motorola guy until I switched to SE a month ago. I got a new K750i. While I like the features, the customizability of the flashes is CRAP! It's simply not there. You can't even change the language of the phone without flashing the whole firmware all over (and paying for it). As well, the menu structure has NO customizability. AND, there are no 3rd mp3 player apps - you're stuck with the one that SE gave you. In my opinion, that just sucks. The only thing that you can change is the color scheme and that's it.

I like the features of the phone (mp3, 2GB MS, 2MP cam) but I am extremely disappointed with the fact that SE phones have very little customization on the software and firmware side.

hi

you people talking nosenses,
you can change the lenguaje (or enable all) just uploading few .txt files and changing certificate configuration, this takes about 7 seconds..

sonyericsson changed the firmware format and just by that you pretending is not "modable" ????,
firmware is 2 part now, one that is main which is common for some regions,
the filesystem part which changes lenguajes, once this two part flashed the phone is finished uploading certificate and starting filesystem (on next power on) which will expand all file stream,

if you wanna remplace some files/graphics just upload/download files from phone with any tool (sonics, setool, cruiser),
if you are using usb-smart you can backup this firmware and can be used to flash other phones

however the format of this "backup" is not like official firmware,
to get same stuff you would need to read the phone Before is powered on and fs expanded

best regards
Invisible

It sounds like the best course of action for you is to go back go back to your SLVR or RAZR and enjoy the wonderful UI that Motorola has devised for you!

I know you're being sarcastic... but even in sarcasm, I would never put the words "Wonderful UI" and "Motorola" together... that is how much I loathe it, haha.
