i have a question about this mod, turning your 8390 to the flip case 6500. how does it look like when the buttons are lit up? are all the buttons lit or are they not? just curious bc i think it looks really nice(sorry im a newbie here)

thanks

All the keypad buttons light up brightly with the 6500 cover on. The lights on the 8390 are naturally VERY BRIGHT, so you don't have to worry about that aspect. Now, if only someone can work on hacking the firmware for the 8390 so that it will enable the active flip function...

I just bought this faceplate for my 8390 and have a couple questions. How are the keys? Is there good tactile feedback with the keys? Does the faceplate fit good, i.e. no creaking, shifting. Is the earpiece volume affected? Is the flip springloaded? Thanks.

thanks a lot for the info...

The keys are very nice, great feedback, similar to the 6590 (non-crystal keypad). The faceplate is solid, no creaking. All buttons are functional, including volume. The flip is spring-loaded, nice and strong, makes an audible snap when it closes shut, makes a click as it flips open, very secure.

I bought from Billy, "trading_shop" on eBay, at bc@gogotelecom.com

It's good stuff!

Thanks for the info. I orderded one from his website about a week ago and I'm looking forward to getting it. Just wanted to make sure I made a good investment. What about the earpiece volume? I've purchased aftermarket faceplates in the past and noticed a drop in the volume because the faceplate was thicker.

The earpiece volume is not affected by either housing. OEM is a better investment. If you want, it's not too late to exchange your aftermarket housing for an OEM. You can send him back your unused aftermarket one. It's about USD $10 extra for OEM, but in my opinion, it's well spent... there's no comparison, it's OEM, no worries. It fits better than the OEM 8390 housing!

By the way, I have a two-weeks-used aftermarket 6500 without the flip cover. I'm giving it way for free. It's the usual champagne golden color. I have no use for it now that I have the OEM housing. Just cover me for shipping and it's yours.

He said the one he sent me was OEM and I only paid $20 for it, so I guess I got a good deal.

Niiiiiiice

Is that $20 with or without shipping?

Does anyone have a pic of their modifications?
