On my kyocera slider remix, I don't have the ability to pair with other cellphones, transfer files as you would normally using bluetooth on most other cellphones... With my friends RAZR on cingular I can pair it with my apple Powerbook and send files using the OS's built in file transfer just fine to the phone. I tried the same with my KX5, it paired with my powerbook, but when i attempted to send a file, the feature was unsupported. What the heck? I cannon connect to any other cellphones either. Alltel has limited the bluetooth ability on the KX5, what a bummer, on kyocera's site, it shows that file transfer (object push) is capable on the KX5 slider. It also shows 100% compatibility with file transfers between apple computers and pairing from phone to phone. alltel has obviously disabled something here. I heard there is a new firmware update that alltel has available for the KX5... does anyone know the list of changes? thanks -steve

there is a firmware update, i'm not sure what hte number is or if you already have it. the update was for a resetting issue though. although they might have added OPP with it. but i can't confirm or deny. take it in, see if you have the newest firmware, if not, update us and let us know if anything changes.

If your Alltell KX5 is anything like the Cricket Remix, then it can't share files over Bluetooth other than vCards. You can pair the phone with other devices, including PC's and other phones, but you cannot xfer pics, music, sounds, etc. at this time.
Tisk. It's a real shame, too.

I tried to sync it with my razr to transfer over some pictures and it wouldn't allow it. This really sucks!!
