For some strange reason when I run a bluetooth device search with a bluetooh headset by its side, the phone doesn't detect it. Does anyone have any clue? I've tried downloading software onto it but don't seen to know how...

Did you put the headset in pairing mode before you searched?

yep, you need to put either the bluetooth dongle or bluetooth headset in pairing mode, then put the phone in search mode to find nearby devices. Then it should be able to find the bluetooth device that is broadcasting its pairing signal.

Am I missing something? Pairing mode is just have it on and have the phone look for the device right? I've tried it many times, it just doesn't detect it. Or does pairing mode mean something else? Sorry, I'm clueless about bluetooth.

Read the manual for your BT headset, or post which headset brand/model you own and someone will tell you how to put it in pairing mode.
