Hello all, I am new to this forum and just wanted to say hello and to ask a few questions.... I have had the V3 for the past year and i love it.. but recently i have had the need to have a little organization in my life so i bought the 8125... first thing i did was come over to this forum to read up on what i can do to it... i have never had a PDA so all this is very new to me.... When i read this forum i feel very overwhelmed by all the information.. i just have a few questions...
1) what is the difference between the cigular medianet and the data plans that they offer.... i have a sidekick 2 right now and i am going to turn it off very soon, and activate one of those plans that they offer... i basically want to cruise the internet, receive emails from my different accounts, and text messages.. basically all that my sidekick offers.

2) is there a place i can go thats kinda like a "8125 for dummies" i have been reading about registries mods, upgrades, etc... and i am lost with the lingo... thank you for your time,

Search the forums. There is essentially no difference between the MediaNet plans and the PDAConnect plans. And check out this thread:

Also check out the HTC Wizard (Cingular 8125) Wiki. It may answer all of your questions.

read the forums at www.xda-developers.com in the wizard section, or search for what you're looking for. that's the best site for information on the 8125. i like how it's a really nice international community. no immature flamers.

This is actually done on the pocket pc. You need a registry editory program. Resco . net has a great one thats included with their file explorer (which is also great by the way, i use both of these). But if your more inclined, there is also freeware called total commander registry editor you can get it at htcwizard . com / apps. If you click on the two \\ it will take you to your hkeys.

Good Luck, and apologize to your significant other ahead of time, this gets addicting.
