although you haven't provided any information, this is a well known issue with unlocked, unbranded phones purchased from HK. a search of the forum will provide the answer! good luck.

Hi,

I am having the same problems with my V3i, I am also wondering if i am getting charged for these messages. The other funny symbol that i receive is an @ and an arrow symbol in the form of a text message, but when i opened it up its empty...and yes i am on T-Mobile too.

I read somewhere the reason why the phone is giving the _@ symbol when there is a voice message is because the T-Mobile system could recognize the message as a voice message so when it sents it out to our phones it couldnt convert it or something along that line....

your phone has a european flex. you need to change the flex to a north american flex **OR** do a simple SEEM EDIT so your phone will understand the north american voicemail WMI icon properly.

Seem 0032_0001 - offset 02 - bit 4: ^@ and _@ VM Indicator SMS Msgs (1 off, 0 on) (**DOES NOT WORK RELIABLY**)

Thanks for the tip, it would be great if the problem can be solved.

However, how do i change the flex to a north american flex? or how do i do a simple SEEM EDIT .

Any help or pointers that you can give me will be greatly appreciated.

thats why we have a FAQ on the beginning of the motorola forum in the stickies, also thats why we search before we ask questions.

Wow...Paolo....the repeated answer with almost little to no sarcasm or cynicsm as I'd assuredly have tossed in.

God Bless you and your patience, and tact.
