I just received my Verizon 7130e and the manual is not very extensive.
I've got some questions that hopefully some members have the answers to off the top of their heads.
1) How can I adjust (or turn off) the volume of the beeps when I dial numbers in phone mode? I have the phone set on Vibrate which mutes any ringer sounds but doesn't affect the dialing beeps. I've dug around but I can't seem to find the setting.
2) Is there any way that the phone screen stays on for a shorter period of time during keylock/keyguard mode? I am planning to carry htis thing in my pocket mostly and I feel like the buttons will be accidentally hit all the time. I don't want to lose precious battery life because the screen keeps turning on in my pocket. I tried setting the screen timer to 10 seconds (the shortest length) but it is inconveniently short when you are actually using the phone. Is there any way to have the timer shorter only while in keyguard mode? And as a related side note, man, do I wish it had a physical hold switch. That would have made using this 10x more convenient to use. I'm a long time flip phone user.

Man, Verizon blows. So there is a hidden charge of $15 per month to tether your 7130e to a laptop. The advertisment that this feature was available is at the top of the product page at Verizon Wireless's website. Yet there is not any mention of a $15 per month charge. Nowhere through the ordering process was this $15 per month charge mentioned. I only found out because they decided on their own to just charge it. I suppose it "activated" when I tethered for the first time. But even then, there was never any mention of $15 per month. I am seriously considering returning the phone now. Also considering leaving Verizon. Didn't they learn not to be shady in advertising with the whole V710 fiasco?
