I have a e815 and installed it as a e815m in MPT. but in the multimedia center it will not connect to my phone through usb cable.

does this do this to any one else?

or do i have to buy a bluetooth adapter for my puter?

any input would be greatly appreciated.

I had no problem with my Motorola v220. But I got a new phone a i 275 and have yet to transfer anything to it via USB cable. I got Bluetooth headset too and don't see the option anywhere in either phone so I can pair the headset. I am just really aggravated with these cell phones. Ready to sell them all and forget about it. I've gone to all the manufactor's sites and of course there is no help there. So I'm here and most of these people are so smart, what they are talking about, I haven't a clue. I just wish someone could help me with these Motorola's.

Which version of MPT are you running?
Does it support your phone?

Have you run the LiveUpdate feature yet?

You need our help in reading Motorola's specs for these phones for you? If you read them, it's quite clear that the V220 DOES NOT support bluetooth, so your headphone is worthless for that phone.

Moving along to the i275, it also DOES NOT support bluetooth, so here again, you can't use the headphone.

Did you just assume that any phone will support a bluetooth headset?

Perhaps you need simple spec sheets with color coded icons - try looking your phones up at http://www.mobiledia.com

And why would the manufacturer's sites help you with something not supported by your phone? Perhaps it's not the phones you should be aggravated with - try a mirror...

Which carrier is your E815 from??? (your profile does not have your phone/provider filled in)...

Some CDMA Carriers (like verizon) disable the phone's compatibility with MPT on the phone itself... and you need to SEEM EDIT (or hack) the phone to re-enable it...

If its disabled, it will be disabled for both USB Cable, and Bluetooth.

yes i have verizon.

i read that i have to do the seemedit. i have pst and p2k. tried to get the seem to load. wouldn't work.

i was following the instructions on this site, from a link i got on here. Any thing missing, when ever i do it the window never pops up with the stuff to edit it alwasy remains blank.

My MPT is up to date, i changed to to the e815m, i can get into the multimedia tools but it won't connect to get pics and stuff. i used bit pim to get my pics for now but i would like to do more with MPT's.

Thanks

With that statement... you are saying... I turn the key, and my car wont start...

If you are looking for help, you really need to be more specific than "it wouldn't work..." because there are too many places to start.. What part wont work? details of your system config?? like what cable do you have (MFG and Model please)? what version of windows? what version of PST? where did you get the SD Modified P2KSeem for V710? did all the drivers PST needs get loaded properly? do you see the Moto usb device GROUP in device manager? etc...

Still a litttle vague... what link? what site??

Hit my pages (use link in my sig), when you get there, use the link for SEEM EDIT... follow it carefully... including the PREP-WORK section...

If you have problems post exactly what data cable you have, and details of your problem... like... "per the guide it says I should see... but I don't... I SEE..."

Even if displayed, the Multimedia Studio features will not work unless you do the Seem Edit... Bluetooth Or USB file transfer in MPT... Offset 006A, Bit 0. to seem 2742.

This is because Verizon disables that feature on the phone itself. So, until you get the seem edit done.. there is no hope for using ANYTHING under MPT's MultiMedia Studio....

Well, Hytran, the bluetooth was given to me and no I had never looked at the specs about something I could really care less about. I did finally get everything working for my new Motorola i275. Also for the i415, i730 and i 830 for some of my friends.

And when I look into the mirror, I see a beautiful person, inside and out. Maybe you're the one who needs to look in the mirror. If you can't say something nice, have no helpful advice, keep your ego and your criticisms to yourself. I'm glad I don't think I'm superior to anyone. Because noone really is.

This site is still the best forum on cell phones. And the end result has always been the same for me - SUCCESS.

Still open-minded and willing to learn. Thanks to everyone else for their help.

newer versions on bitpim better support the CDMA Moto phones, like the V710, V3C, and E815... However from what I'm reading, its not 100% stable yet...

MPT will work for Calendar and contacts via USB Cable or bluetooth out of the box... i.e. no seem edits needed..
