Stuck with Euro SLVR

I stupidly bought a phone off of eBay. It was a SLVR L7. I found out that the phone is European. Despite having strangely spelled words (dialled calls, personalise), the phone had bootloader 08.D0 and NO iTUNES.

I really wanted iTunes, and then the phone mysteriously broke...? I returned the phone and was unfortunate to find out that they could only replace my phone..

If I take this phone to my SP (Cingular), can they load iTunes and possibly replace all of this with the American version...?

You need to install software (RSD Lite 2.5) that will allow you to connect to your phone and reflash it. You can find an unlocked version of the Cingular firmware, known as a Monster Pack for your phone and use that. Just make sure whatever you use is unlocked. Personally, I don't care for iTunes and I don't want Cingular branding on my phone. I installed a generic German retail MP on my phone when the original FW (similar, but Spanish) corrupted.

Research heavily. With the phone off, hold * and # and then power button to get to your bootloader screen. This will tell you what version of bootloader and firmware you have. If you have R4513, make sure you keep the flash train the same. The other version is R4517.

My last one was R4513, I don't know if i want to reflash it though. My phone wouldn't boot last time i tried to put iTunes on it, and if i screw it up, i doubt this company would take it back again. I don't mind the Cingular branding, as long as I have iTunes,

...will Cingular not do this?

I doubt it since the phone wasn't from Cingular. Heck, Cingular stores wouldn't even unlock an AT&T phone I had if I migrated to Cingular Orange.

I think you should be safe trying a reflash. I've done two to mine (first was Vodafone and I didn't know it). Do this instead of trying to piecemeal iTunes on there.
