SYN8609B Headset not working with new E815 Firmware

OK so recently i flashed my phone with the new 8720_01.1E.00 Firmware for the E815. I also did some edits to the nvm_factory folder in order to reenable DUN on the phone. Now for some reason my FM headset no longer registers on my phone. Usually when u plug it in to the data port at the bottom of the phone the "contacts" soft button changes to "radio" and you just go on from there to listen to the radio on the headset. 
However when i plug in the headset i get nothing. the contacts icon doesnt change to radio. 
Any Ideas??? if not then im willing to part with this thing for pretty cheap since ill have no use for it anymore.
