Huh?

well looks like someone found an early demo or something...

The guy is nuts. $350+ for a broken phone.

Posted by: macizcool

Wow, that guy is completely nuts. I hope no one buys it.

The software and UI are not the current version either.

It looks like he made a wallpaper with icons on it....it looks crappy.

No it is the previous Cingular UI for the devices in testing. I do agree on it looking crappy though - that was my reaction as well.

Posted by: dday64

What's the new UI like?

And this phone uses MicroSD right?

The icons are pretty much Blue with some grey, white and a little orange to them. Rather different from the old ones, not just in color though. Still not that impressive looking, but ok.

Yes it uses MicroSD.

Posted by: bobolito

On a more positive note, I like the fact that it has 12 icons in the main menu. The 6131s I've seen in pictures only have 9 icons. Is this something that can be customized or is the Cingular version going to have 12 icons in the main menu?

I see that the menu defaults to Messages, rather than MEdia Mall.... Hopefully the final version will be like that....

I have 9 now.

We are just talking about a customized Series 40 phone with Cingular stuff on it right? I really don't like the 'standardized' UI that folks like sprint and vzw have been trying to push. One of the best things about these sorts of phones is all the different directions that you can take it because of the OS.

I'm probably just being paranoid.

I think you are. As of now, Cingular just adds their own startup splash screen and a bunch of links to their premium content to phones. Unfortunately, this causes some phones to act weird. Luckily, most GSM phones can be easily flashed and completely unbranded. I really enjoy that on my 6230.

Posted by: dday64

Doesn't the 6126 have AIM and other messenging programs installed on it? Does the 6131 have them also?

6126 has AIM on it, I don't know about the 6131.

I can't find it anywhere, so IMO no, it doesn't. It has an area for instant messaging in messages, but when I hit the button it says that I need to contact my provider for the service. There is no icon on the screen or in the menus that I can find.

I found this in another thread:

Yah not like that on the 6126. It has AOL, MSN and Yahoo messaging on it.

I'm actually doing something similar with my Nokia 6620, that I bought on ebay a year or so back. I was using it on T-mobile, and have recently switch to Cingular, and brought the phone with me, but it still has all the old ATT branding and stuff. So the other day, it was sent off to be flashed with the most recent Cingular branding etc. It has been a very good phone, and gets great reception, but there were also some bugs that I was experiencing that led to the flash.

BTW, can anyone speak to the reception on the 6126 as compared to the 6620 (or even the RAZR)?

Posted by: beatniks3

my 6620 holds the signal longer then my 6131 on cingular network. both are better then the SLVR in my experience.

Posted by: at&t_hitman

Rumor has it...

Technical approval for the 6126 has been pushed back to July 17th. That means it likely wouldn't hit warehouses until July 27ish and will not likely make it to stores until August.

Posted by: 4limbs

Less than a month......not too bad

Posted by: dday64

Nah.. I mean I'd rather not wait (obviously), but it's not urgent..

I did end up selling my 8125 though; I'm back to using my old standby SE T616, still a great phone after 3 years.

Oh really? You can get a 6126 from Cingular and flash it with the stock Nokia firmware and be good to go?

Awesome! That just saved me money, lol. I was thinking to get an unbranded 6126 and use it with Cingular. Unbranded so that I could have normal firmware and the network select ability - blocked on cingular firmware.

But, if I can get a 6126 from Cingular and flash it to get the network select feature I can save some $$. Thanks!

Unless you're getting it with a new contract or a renewal, you won't be saving anything, it'll actually end up costing you more to do it that way.

Cost of a 6131 on ebay is down to $265 shipped. A 6126 from cingular with no contract alone is going to be $265 or so after tax, plus $20 (plus shipping if you have to) to unbrand it, which will still leave the case of the phone itself with a logo on it. Even the discounted 1 year/2 year price won't save you much over just buying a 6131 now, especially considering that it looks like it will be well into august before you see it in a Cingular store.

Posted by: dday64

From reading the other thread on here though (http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?t=909633), it sounds like Cingular users with 6131's are having a lot of issues, from voicemail problems to not being able to load certain applications into the phone that use the internet.

I was going to buy a 6131 off of eBay but if that's the case I might have to wait for the 6126.

Posted by: beatniks3

i wouldn't say alot of cingular users are having problems, just depends on what you are trying to do with the phone. I never do video MMS, so if the cingular video MMS doesn't work on the 6131 that doesn't really affect me right?

the voicemail issue seems to be regional, mine works perfectly fine.

the internet setup issues seem to be user related, again my internet works fine on the 6131 after i sent the setting OTA from the nokia website (i used the settings for the 6131 BTW)

on the other hand, we have yet to see what kind of issues the cingular firmware will introduce on the 6126....

the NA warranty is the really the only good excuse to get the 6126, and video MMS if you use them IMHO

Posted by: dday64

What about installing and using Opera Mini and Google Maps? I was just going through that thread again and saw that the Opera issue seems to be fixed.. but I'd like to have Google Maps too.

Of course, is that an issue of it being a 6131 and a Cingular 6126 would be different? Or is it because of the OS in general.

Posted by: KlamshellKing

i want to sell my 8125 too, how does it feel not using it?? because it has so many extra things certain phones dont have so i just want to know what its like not to use it because i may want to get rid of mine. i think i may get an N80 though

Posted by: dday64

It really depends what you use it for. I used mine as a phone, text messenger (and get email), web browser, daily planner to keep track of college stuff, and to play jawbreaker. Whatever it's called now.

I do miss the web browser, and it took some getting used to to texting with the keys again. I have plenty of other games to play so that doesn't bother me. And luckily right now I'm only taking summer courses so I don't need to have a breakdown of things every day.

But from what I hear the 6126 can get my email for me again, with Opera (assuming it works) I can have a web browser, and I've been told the main screen can act somewhat like a Today screen, so it'll work out. I just have to be alright with my T616 for now, and it's going alright.

And when I got $375 for my 8125, It helped a bit too

I just want to know if Google Maps will work with the 6126 - or even the 6131 for that matter. That would be great if it did

Yup, that's a big plus when it comes to GSM phones. HoFo's advertiser, iUnlock, is great to deal with.

Posted by: dday64

Any chance this phone might still drop tomorrow - even if only on Premier? Or are we looking at the end of the month?

Grr I hate that stupid "lip" design on the bottom of them. Some NEC phone had that too and it drove me nuts.

I agree. From looking at photos, it's the only turn-off that I can find. But it looks like something I could get used to.

Posted by: mckinnie08

I swear that phone looks like Bubba Gump!!

Posted by: Antioch18

Ah. That is bad for me.

Im currently phoneless and was planning on getting connected again with the 6126.

Abroad right now and moving back to the US on July 30th - incase anyone was wondering why I'm phoneless, lol.

i mean the v3i was supposed to be out months ago... so im sure this wont be in atleast till mid august

Posted by: Antioch18

Not going to wait for Cingular, I'll buy an unbranded phone direct from Nokia if need be.

found this on phonescoop...

"Per my very reputable source, this phone --originally scheduled for a July 5 release-- has now had its release date pushed back to the first week of August."

IMO Nokia won't release the phone until Cingular picks it up. Maybe after Cingular releases it than Nokia will sell it unbranded.

Posted by: helpermonkey

Unbranded is the 6131

Posted by: Antioch18

F..... well if it comes out during the first week of August that's enough for me.

A Nokia rep came by my store a few days back. He was showing off the 6126. I was impressed in particular by the screen, and the price point (79 after rebate he said). He also told me technical approval was pushed back to the 17th of July. He said Nokia has them ready to go when they get the green light.

I got my 6131 today, so if anyone has any questions about it (since it's basically the same as the 6126) let me know.

Posted by: I have a phone

gee whiz.. is it as cool as everyone says? Does it have a send key?

Posted by: b0stonirishguy

Yes, it's quite a fancy device. The keys use Roman numerals.

Posted by: Topsales

Mobilebee.com shows the 6126 in stock at $399 w/o contract. Wow, such a deal!

Posted by: dday64

I've been using the 6131 for 3 days now and I have to say it's a great phone. The speaker volume is a little low, but everything else is working great. I even have voicemail working fine, MMS, internet, even google maps mobile! I live in NJ if that makes a difference to anyone. I'm really happy I bought this instead of waiting for the 6126. And the phone is just very user friendly (I haven't used Nokia's in a few years).

If anyone has any questions, please ask!

I have a few questions myself..

- What's the good free IM program that everyone uses for phones?
- Where can I find good s40 applications?
- For anyone who has used s40v3 before, with the active standby, is there any way to change things? I have the calendar up but nothing else, and it only lets me see 3 lines.. any way to extend it?

when you say speaker volume is low, do you mean regular phone call and/or loudspeaker?

judging by your profile i'm going to assume you also mean "low" relative to the 2 phones you listed. Now hopefully this isn't OT, but i've noticed with my nokia 6200 that the volume is variable... sometimes it's super loud and sometimes it's hard to hear, and that's with talking with the same person. I've also read reports of people complaining that the 6102i (i think that's the phone) on cingular have said the volume is low. is it the phone or is it the network or is it dependent on person or dependent on phone?

Posted by: dday64

It seems to be my phone, and the speakerphone is nice and loud, its the regular one that's low. And like your 6200 it seems to vary - sometimes its loud and sounds great, othertimes it's really low, on the same call like you said. At least I have my bluetooth headset

Here's my question: How is the flip mechanism? I doubt you have anything to compare it to, so I don't know how you will answer, but I am still currious.

It is the phone volume on the 6102i that is low. Take it from me, it is not up to the volume of some Nokia phones at all. I have used some really low end Nokia candy bar style phones lately that were much louder. It is not the network.

The 6131's flip mechanism works, but maybe not to everyone's satisfaction.

If you have the phone flat on it's "back" (say on a table), the screen will flip open without trouble.

But if you hold the phone straight up and hit the button, it may only have enough "oomph" to flip halfway open.

The spring mechanism just isn't powerful enough to do that. However, I found it quite reasonable for normal operation. Opening/closing the phone manually without the button works just fine, too.

I love the flip mechanism. It works great, even with the modified case I am using. Yes, sometimes the spring doesn't have enough umph, but I attribute that to the case. Without the case it works great.

The volume level on my phone was so loud that I had to turn it down. It does matter how you place the speaker hole on the ear. It is like my wife's 6103, if you don't put it right it will be soft. Her 6103 has auto or manual volume adjustments, so it does vary a little, depending on the environmental noise level. I don't know if the 6102i has that.

Wait, are you talking about the 6131 volume or the 6102i? I was talking about the 6201i being not up to par with the other Nokia phones I have used. The 6126 (6131) volume is just fine.

I wonder if you wont find the flip on the 6126 improved. Only time will tell I guess.

^^I was talking about the 6103, but both the 6103 and 6131 seem fine to me.

Posted by: tdawgmd

I thought the flip on the 6131 worked fine. I agree that if you hold it straight up and down and hit the button, it may not quickly snap open(although mine would always open), but I found myself giving it a little wrist flip to give it that extra oomph. I do it all the time with my v3i, but the button on the 6131 just keeps you from having to snake a fingernail under the edge of the flip. Don't worry--you still look like captain Kirk.

So the phone can defiantly be opened easily without pressing the button? I just imagine a drunk friend trying to force it open without realizing there is a button...

Yes, very easily

I had no qualms about the hinge, when it comes to opening it manually. I kind of liked the clicky feeling you get as it opens.

Will the 6126 work fine with the Nokia PC Suite software? I see it isn't listed yet but likely because the phone isn't out.

Yes, it will. I would buy a Bluetooth USB adapter for your computer, if you don't already have one, and use Bluetooth. It will work great. A USB data cable may be necessary for larger downloads or use a MicroSD card.

Well guys, its JULY 17th! The date the approval was due.

Posted by: at&t_hitman

The approval was delayed "by a couple of days".

Should anyone be worried that A: a Nokia product is being held up and B: They arent giving exact dates anymore now a "couple of days"? Between this and the V3i Cingular's R&D really sucks. They delay and delay.... the V3i was delayed not because the phone was crappy but because they wanted to put more digital rights management software in the damn thing.

Nice job Cingular.

that sucks

Posted by: filburt

I guess as a Cingular customer, I should expect delay after delay. I just wish this delay isn't due to some stupid additions (e.g., DRM) or removal of features (e.g., FM radio, over-the-air firmware update), but for something worthwhile like major bug fixes or longer battery life. It's really too bad. Phones like Motorola V3i, Nokia 6126, and Sony Ericsson W810i should give additional boost to Cingular's bottom line.

Posted by: I have a phone

I've said it before and I'll say it again, any release dates posted in a web forum are nothing more than conjecture

I'm debating that, as well. However, I think it's close enough to the release date to wait for the 6126.

If you have the dollas to spare, just go ahead and buy the 6131.... The only downside I would see is not being able to take advantage of XBM.

However, I know what it's like to wait. When I decided to get Verizon, it was the most awful experience waiting 2 weeks for the vx8300 to be released.... But that could have been enhanced by me telling my friends that I was getting Verizon and they were anxious to talk for free... Regardless, waiting sucks

Posted by: unfknrl

I've been waiting years for a good Nokia flip phone. My contract ends next month, which helps me with the waiting time. Hope it's out by then

Yes, that is where most of us got ours. I wish I had known about importgsm.com first. They seem to have great customer service.

Posted by: at&t_hitman

Alright here we go.

I talked to the BIG Nokia honcho Lew tonight at a Washington/Baltimore kickoff event. The Nokia 6126 is very tenderly slated for a Thursday July 20 approval. Which means it will still be the back to school phone, and out the first half of August.

He also went on record as saying E62 in Septemeber. Hm....

Cross your fingers everyone!

Just from knowing IHAP I would bet good money it's going to be later than that. In my non-knowing, no sources guess I would say it will be perhaps august or at least september before the phone is out, and that is an early guess. Don't ever wait on Cingular to release a phone, if you do then by the time it's released it will be old news and something else will be released in a month or less with Cingular

Posted by: Rcadden

I'm wondering if IHAP knows about an email that was sent out detailing release information, or if he personally sent "Lew" an email. Haha.

Posted by: Soopafly

It looks like it might be released before the v3i. Middle of august would be the soonest.

We are testing a UMTS/HSDPA RAZR aka the IRAZ... don't plan on release of it anytime soon though.

I wouldn't bet that. these two are a week apart in release dates and both seem to back up daily.

And a moto umts/hspda unit. I cant wait.

Posted by: cdp1276

I heard from a Cingular GAM today that the new tentative launch date is 8/17. But as you all say, don't hold your breath.

uh-oh sounds like a moto a630 back to sckool...i mean school special.

Posted by: Soopafly

I just saw a promo list for back to school promos and advertising. The 6126 is on the advertising... so it should be a go for August.

And IHAP.. check out the intranet under the product development section... if you can? I would think you would be employed by this company some how with your knowledge level... then again the average Cingular employee is dumber than rocks so...

Posted by: bobolito

Don't say that to IHAP. He denies he works for Cingular and that's understandable for being in this forum.

Posted by: Cellwind929

I work as an Authorized Agent, we got the back to school promo pack yesterday and the 6126 posters were in it. I'm going to guesstimate an early to middle August release date. Though it probably will be pushed back knowing this industry.

Posted by: anubis9278

place your bets...August, September, or Never

btw, i got that 8/17 release date crap to. I never pay attention to them anymore though. Bout as useful as flammable underwear at a bon fire.

Posted by: bobolito

Someone should post a poll asking "When will Cingular release the 6126?"

- Early August
- Mid August
- Late August
- September
- October
- Never!

True... I coded my wording that way... LOL

I would be highly surprised if he didn't...

if cingular doesnt pick up this phone, i would definitely buy it

Posted by: jkozlow3

Why does the subject line of this thread now say "confirmed" instead of "testing" all of a sudden? Isn't the next step after "testing" typically "approved"?

Posted by: ant architect

I'm not sure if this has been posted, but I was in a Nokia Experience Center in Washington DC and they had a live Cingular-branded Nokia 6126.

Posted by: Antioch18

Yea but can you buy it?

I'd love to drive down there and pick one up in 2 weeks...

Any ideas which phone is better, Nokia 6126 or SE z520a. I am mostly concerned about reception and sound quality. Thanks

Posted by: beatniks3

i'm starting to feel bad for everyone who is waiting on this from cingular, i hope they pull it off in august for you.

is anyone waiting on the 6126 nervous at all about how the cingular firmware will function?

i wonder if the 6126 cingular firmware will have the auto keypad lock like the 3.7 firmware 6131 does? i really like this feature and would hate to have to lock the phone all the time.

I have the z520, and from what I've read about the 6131, I'm going to guess:

1)6126 will have better reception
2)6126 will have better sound quality
3)z520 is probably a little louder

We'll wait and see if I'm right.

so even though it's a flip phone you have to lock the keypad? Kind of defeats the purpose of a flip.

No, the keypad lock has to do with the side buttons, such as volume and camera activation. When you shut the phone it will turn the keys off, so you don't accidentally activate them. I love the feature.

I hope T-mo picks the 6126 up as well. I can dream can't I?

ah ok, my old Sanyo 8200 was like that you still had to hold down the side buttons for a few seconds to activate them even if keylock was disabled though so i just disabled it.

Because the phone is confirmed, but still under testing. Some phones get tested but that doesn't mean they will get confirmed. Maybe the new title revision will help ease the confusion for you.

I hope so as well...changed title.

Back in testing... sure about that? Last I saw it received approval from the test group.

It's now in other hands for the decision... but testing should be done. I did hear no v3i though... that had nothing to do with testing though. LOL

IHAP might know something about this. Then again maybe not.

Point of Purchase material. All the advertising signs. If they take down the material it usually means the release is either really delayed or may never happen.

I am sure those who work for Cingular can't really tell us why, but IMO the popping noise some of us get when dialing with the 6131 may have something to do with the delay. My wives 6103 doesn't do that.

There may be other reasons, such as getting the firmware to Cingular's media and network needs.

I wish Nokia would release the phone unlocked and unbranded, so that we would be able to have a great phone, with support and warranty.

Yah I guess Cingular really has something against releasing product that isn't ready to be released. It's a same they don't just send it out.

Posted by: Joe Kewl

You mean they have a problem releasing a phone without all their marketing crap installed on it (Cingular mall, buy wallpaper, buy ringtones, buy games, etc...)

They have released plenty of unfinished phones... my v600's software was crap. My CU320 drops calls constantly, the camera only works 10% of the time, the speaker is full of static, and cuts out alot, and so does the speaker phone...

Posted by: anubis9278

maybe they should leave the poc ptt in there

Hmm, yah, well I haven't seen a bad CU320. Maybe you have a unit that needs to be replaced. I guess Cingular makes the phones, so it is always their fault when one has issues. I hear accusations on hear constantly that the marketing crap causes all the problems. I am sure it causes some problems, but I am also sure it isn't causing anywhere near all of them. People won't be happy no matter what the carriers do, so I don't think it is worth arguing.

The HoFoer I got the tip from said they assured that person it was a 6126, not a 6131. Maybe they got an exclusive deal to carry it first. It is interesting that they will discount the phone for T-mobile signup.

I just rely on my sources or PM from other members unless I come across the info myself (which is rare). I decided to change it back from "confirmed" to "testing" as I didnt hear anything from my sources to indicate that it was approved.

I try to stay on top of it as much as I can but I rely on others to provide me the "testing" and "approved" titles.

My mistake for the confusion though.

The Nokia 6126 will come out when Cingular releases it.

Ok... it got approved with a green highlight a few days ago and then after a couple days off... low behold back in testing... LOL

Well cross your fingers for a late August release... v3i is still in testing as well... though I was told it may not come out.

Good luck to those in Northern Cali who have the Nokia contest, might be a while til guys get your 6126s... PNW gets the Pantech contest... (I laughed when I heard that too..)

I was told by TWO of my indirect reps that Cingular will be launching the 6126 mid to late August.

Both reps told me their corporate stores were able to place orders for the phones but one was not totally sure they would be available by the 17th when my exchange period runs out

We'll see if I am still stuck with the CU500 or if I can sweet talk my way into this new phone!

Here's hoping!

I was told by cingular rep that is coming out Aug 27. We shall see.....

Posted by: at&t_hitman

This phone will not make retail in August.

The rumor floating around HOFO was that the phone might be cancelled and the battery was awful. I felt that was weird as they have no problem releasing LGs with poor batteries....

Anyways, the phone was sent back to Nokia because the plastic that protects the external display was getting scuffed and cracked!!! It had to be redesigned. It was a Nokia problem, not Cingular holding it up.

The phone is first week of September at the earliest. Cingular market communications make it out to be possibly late August but thats not likely, much less even possible as I say this in the first week of August already.

I'd look for approval towards the END of the 3rd week of August and retail availibility in the 1st or 2nd week of September. I also would NOT buy a 6131 as I'm willing to bet it has the faulty outer display. Just my two cents. Good luck.

Well, in all the treads and reports that have been on HoFo, is the first I have heard of the outer screen having a problem. I have my 6131 in a case, so scuffing won't be a problem. No one on HoFo has reported a cracking problem, other than one guy who ran his phone into a table.

IMHO, it sound like a bunch of hooey. If Nokia has to remake the plastic display, I think it will be longer than a month to redo the phones. My guess is October.

Yeah, I'm also calling shenanigans. Nokias are pretty tough and he one I had felt solid. My 6131 was treated like a baby and I was definitely not gonna go out of my way to scuff any part of it.

..and yeah, the only person I've heard of having any issues is that same guy :x

Hi there. First post here althought I've been reading this forum daily for a couple of months waiting (and waiting, and waiting) for this phone to come out. But I just wanted to add that there have been numerous reports of the outer screens on the 6102 cracking. I've not only read them on the net, but someone in one of the Cingular stores told me he'd had several complaints because of it. When it first started happening, they didn't want to replace the phone because it wasn't a "known issue" and assumed (ie. accused) people were abusing the phone. Obviously, that didn't go over well. Perhaps there have been enough reports now that it's considered a known issue and if the 6126 uses the same screen, Cingular may have insisted Nokia replace it with something more durable before they gave final approval.

There have also been numerous reports of the rubberized coating on the 6102i and 6103 peeling off and I've seen a couple of people on HoFo report the same issue with the 6131. Just guessing, but that might be another issue holding things up.

I agree with the reports of the rubberized coating peeling off, I have seen a bunch of them on HoFo. I would tend to agree with that being an issue more that the cracked plastic.

Aren't the 6102i and 6103 made for Nokia by BenQ? The plastic screen of my wife's 6103 is a different size and IMO feels different than the screen of my 6131.

I love my phone and hope others who are waiting for Cingular to release it will get to try this high quality product. My contract with T-mo is up in January and maybe by then Cingular will release it.

Don't know who made the 6102i and 6103, but I think I remember people saying they found "Made in Mexico" stamped on them and I don't believe the 6131 is made in Mexico, so it could be a different supplier, but I do know those phones had at least some screen cracking problems so I was just speculating that it may be the same issue. I doubt they baby phones during testing and probably put them through some abuse to see how they'll hold up over the long haul and the 6131 really hasn't been out long enough to tell yet.

I'm definitely a Nokia fan though. That's all I've ever owned, although I've tried others and returned them for various reasons - usually relating to a lousy signal. Nokia's are more consistent in holding a good signal than any other brand IMO and they keep on working no matter what I put them through. But if the 6126 keeps getting delayed like this, I may have to give the Star Trek (Cingular 3125 made by HTC) a shot assuming it makes it on the market before the 6126. I REALLY need a new phone and can't wait forever.

I've gotta say I would take the HYC Star Trek over the 6126, but I am a fan of phones that are good at web browsing and email etc. The HTC is a bigger phone, so the keys feel bigger and more spread out, but it is not a big phone - not to me at least.

Now that I've gotten off my rear and finally registered instead of being a lurker that was something I was going to ask about. Here's the thing.

I live in South Orange County which is notorious for spotty signals regardless of the carrier, so I'm currently stuck on an old TDMA phone without any Internet capability because I didn't get any Cingular GSM signal at my house and got full bars with TDMA. But I just sold my house and I'm moving to LA so I'm ready to make the switch and I really want to be able to access sites like google mail, google maps and get up-to-date traffic conditions on my phone without having to haul my laptop around. I know the 3125 will do that, but some people seem to rag on Window Mobile vs. Simbian and I'm not sure if I'll be sorry for some reason I'm unaware of. The 3125 does look like a fantastic phone, but so does the 6126 if it will also do everything I want it to.

Rubberized coating? What are you talking about??? The Nokia 6102i DOES NOT have any type of coating...

Must just be the 6103 then.

Why does it take months on end to release a cell phone?! The waiting for phones is just too much to take sometimes....

I need to replace my aging 6230 with either a 6126 or a SE W810... not sure which way to go yet.

Posted by: Cellwind929

My 6230 is starting to go too. Thats why I'm waiting for this phone too. It's sad that I work for Cingular and HoFo has a better idea of whats going on then any of my reps do. God forbid these companies give us estimated release dates or even a clue of whats going on.

By the way, I saw your post on another site about finding out that Mobilebee doesn't actually have the 6126 even though their site says it's available and in stock. I knew it seemed too fishy to be true. I wonder how many orders they've taken and how long they think they can stall before people catch on.

firmware...

I don't know about anyone else, but a weekend was enough for me. I got told by one of their reps that they actually had one and were holding it for me. What a crock!

If the 6126 ever comes out I won't buy it from such a shady operation.

Do I gather that the delay is a FIRMWARE issue and not construction? I have seen carriers put out very poorly constructed units before, so IMO your response makes sense. The phone seems rock solid to me!

Posted by: helpermonkey

I don't think it is construction, the phone has already been changed at least once.

SunCom beat Cingular to the release punch. It is available.
