TEXT message help needed!!!

i have a v3i non itunes, which is giving me trouble.
when i go to the message center it only shows me
-new message
-voicemail
-browser messages

i cant see inbox,outbox etc.
im already missing messages because if i were to say exit instead of read i can not retrieve that message until somebody else sends me a message.

how the heck do i fix this?
they say it might be a seem edit quick fix, but which one?

yikes doesnt look like that quick of a fix... ill see if i can do this seem editing stuff...wish me luck

It's actually a pretty quick fix if you ask me lol

Just download the 0032 0001 seem, open it up in xvi32, search for the 03 offset and use the bit manipulation tool to mark those 4 bits. Then save and re-upload.

or if you have p2ktools, you can enable it with the "other features" button, then after checking the options you want enabled, click on "set"

every now and then we do see threads like these. It's so easy to check out the stickies and the moto wiki, but some people don't have the patience to read or do searching.

thats why i am reading everything thoroughly before modding the phone, we all run into problems... ive run into my first problem with one of the first steps: connecting the phone... my computer wont recognize my phone even with the newest drivers...

are you making sure you are running rsd lite as well as p2k to connect your phone?

You don't need to do any seem editing. If you use the new P2K verson 0.8.6 Build 406 and you go into "other features>messaging...you can just turn them all on there.

problem is the phone isnt being recognized by the computer... im using windows xp and ive downloaded all the current drivers...

Try opening MPT first then run P2K.

It's interesting that there are so many posts recently with folks having issues connecting with the p2k drivers. I've never had a problem connecting a phone to MPT, PST, RSD or any p2k tools.

Running RSD (or whatever) first is a great workaround, but it surely doesn't fix the issue as there's no reason two programs need to be running for it to work.

Now, if your phone has a microSD card, your phone's USB setting may have been left in the "memory card" setting - it needs to be changed to "data/fax" for it to work with p2k.

Not to bore everyone, but the reason I even thought of it...

The conductor on my train home gave me his wife's V635 to tweak for Cingular and to do the gain table hack. I got it home and turned it on - she had a phone lock on it

. So I had to power it off and plugged it into the cable - came up far enough for me to read the SEEM with the lock code

- once I got past that, I found that I couldn't connect. Hmmm. Then I noticed the message flashing on the phone's screen - it was in memory card mode.

I wonder if this isn't the cause of more of these "p2k won't connect" issues?

Personally I use p2kseem to edit SEEMs. Plus it has some handy (tho not 100% correct) labelling so you have a decent idea what you're enabling/disabling.

im using leader GL flex editor, it seemed easier but ill give p2kseem a shot if i can find it
