i have a picture as my wallpaper on my phone and want to change it, how do i do that and the other question is how do i take a picture with the 551 when i have my own wall paper picture on the phone already.
is this possible? or if i have wall paper of my own on the phone, will the camera feature be disabled. (sorry for the silly question, i went through the manual and it obviously is for people who are more in the know than me) As mentioned in how long I have been with Rogers, it goes back to "flip Brick" Moto phone era with the huge battery. I used that phone for 6 years and jumped into the 21st century with the better half and purchased these v 551's.
Everyone hooted at us with our old clunky reliables, but they worked well as all we needed was a phone
!! (everyone else was listening to music etc.
and we were talking on the phone
So now we have these 2 new pieces of technology and are struggling with all of their features. It seems we get the ring tone set as an example and suddenly we're embarrassed in the store with "Hello Moto"
and some silly looks
If there is any resource material on the camera feature topic here I would appreciate its location.
I tried to do a search but did not find anything.
I apologize for posting what is probably considered a very mundane question about how to use the camera feature and how to change wall paper.
But I sincerely would appreciate experienced comments, thankyou

menu>settings>personalize>wallpaper>picture - press change and press down on the 4 way toggle to bring up the list of stored images - pick one and press select.
take a picture by using the camera - if you want to keep it, press store and you will have a several choices: keep as wallpaper will directly replace what you currently have. store only will add it to the list of pictures (menu>my media>pictures

Thx for taking the time to reply. This will be likely another silly question, even though I have wall paper on the v551. i can still take a picture is that correct.
I really want to get this down properly and practice, heaven forbid that I have to use the camera feature for the same reason that i was so stupid not to know how.
My young 8 yr old daughter was hit by a car just as I was picking her up at school, the driver stopped and got out and then went and moved his car when it was not even blocking the traffic. There was a witness, however the police advised me that I should have taken a picture with my cell phone as it would have helped them in their investigation.
I simply feel sick about it for being so stupid. I did not know what to do with the phone to take a picture and am going to make certain that everyone here that has this phone knows how to use that feature.
And we will be practising.
I gather if I don't want to keep the pic and am simply practising I would simply not select "store", is that correct?
I know that the camera feature is not up to great expectations, however the police indicated that it would have been good enough for them to get an idea of what happened, as my daughter was struck while walking on the sidewalk. she is in the hospital for a couple more days because of a head concussion and broken ribs and arm.
I really appreciate the comments as I plan on practicing today and make a short instruction note to keep with the phone should I ever need to use it again and get stressed and forget what the process is, again thankyou and I hope that you can respond to the above queries before I start practicing.
BTW, is there a max amt of stored pics for this phone. Not that I would be storing a lot. And does storing put a load on the battery etc. of the phone.
Obviously you can see that I don't know anything about this new technology with phones having had only one cell phone before and that as I mentioned was the antiquated Moto flip " Brick" phone that did the job for us. Now there are so many other features.
Best regards with thankyous

if you take a picture and don't want it, just don't store it. the picture will not replace your wallpaper unless you chose to store as wallpaper! chose plain old store and it gets saved in the pictures folder as i've said.
