I went to superior tire and they said they don't do it.

do it yourself! most car specific enthusiast forums will have a DIY section which should have a guide to install lowering springs/coilovers.

hmm,

springs seem OK if u have the right tools. but to change like the entire suspension system, sounds kinda scary lol. then agian, if u have the right tools and guts (i dont think ill ever be able to do any 'mods' for my car) then go ahead!

just be carefull. especially when compressing the spring, anyforum should tell u this + other stuff lol (cause isnt it under alot of pressure or load or seomthign and can like fly out and kill you?!)

anyways good luck lol

95 civic hatchback, was thinkin of doin it myself, but never done it or seen it being done. However i do have all the tools to do it myself, so i might give it a stab.

I have to butt in here, as I install these on the weekly. It's pretty fun to install your own suspension, I did my own suspension install (coilovers too) equipped only with a ratchet set, torque wrench, and a DIY article from 2k1civic.com. Your only concern is the fact that the car is fairly old, and some bolts or bushings may be seized or rusted. By all means give it a go, but if you're having a lot of trouble getting a nut or bolt out then you may have to button it all back up and go to a shop. Sometimes a bushing needs to be torched out or a bolt drilled out.

civics should be one of the eziest vehicles to install suspension stuffs by urself...
cuz of the double wishbone design....

if ur car ain't such a rustbucket i won't even bother w/ troque wrench, just tight them by hand is gd enough in most cases....

and i always thought coilover come pre-assmbled??? since most of them are pollowball top mount, u don hava take the old mount off to install them...
if do then u won even need sping compress tools...
just take oem ones out and new ones in....
but then...
never install brand new coilover on ne car myself...
but always gotta do suspension work in my workplace...

^ yup, but you can rent spring compressors at kragen, autozone...etc for free...just give em the deposit, rent it, use it, return it and get your deposit back.
