Retrieving Contact List

I am wondering how to retrieve my contact list. My phone is bricked, won't connect through Bitpim, or Qpst. I do however have a complete backup of the filesystem that Bitpim made. I think the file /nvm/phbk/phonebook is a a file which I think is my contact list. But there is no file extension, and I cannot view it in plain text. I also have the backup that Qpst made, but I cannot find where a contacts list is there at all. Any help is appreciated.

hmmm, im not entirely sure but my backup cant be viewed either because of the format, but i think if you replace the file then you'll be fine, i would apprieciate anyone else helping him because chances are im wrong.

Unfortunately that didn't work. I replaced the file on my computer (phonebook) with the one on the phone and it did not work. Any other thoughts?
