just got my 904SH (black) from Tim. happy with the phone & service from Tim

i think a lot of you already know that you can download your own theme / custom screen for the 904SH from http://www.custamo.com/pc/. you can download all theme there but only those FREE "??" ones can be used on the phone. for the rest of them you have to pay for them....

back to the old news, we are still waiting the "good news" from Tim. i know it's SOON

yah.. i believe right now we can only use free themes.. i guess the really nice ones have to be paid for in order for them to be used

i guess we could use a theme editor to make our own

most Japanese phones work with OSX with this.....

if you want it with their cable, it will 5980YEN. you can get the one without cable for 3150YEN

is there any other way to sync your Sharp 903/904 phone with your computer? (not just Mac, PC as well).

I have most of my contacts in Lotus Notes/Outlook address book, which are kept as master copies. It would be cool if Sharp 904 can somehow sync (BT maybe?) with them to download the addresses.

The Mac sync software is good. But you need to pay and what makes is worse is i don't understand japanese and i don't want to activate the wrong product or set the wrong settings...

my dream is...... if the 904 can sync by using bluetooth to my microsoft outlook and i don't have to type every stupid thing in one by one again~~

There are some free (無料) themes, but 90% of them aren't. I haven't got around my 904sh yet so I don't know if the system uses the same DRM-keysystem as all those music videos on the 903sh Vodafone JP memory card and all those Vodafone JP CM videos they have for download (the system doesn't work on foreign SIMs, I think, because it checks that you're not in Vodafone JP's network while you're trying to get the license for playback/usage of file). If the free files do not use that system, we'll be able to use them, if they do - well, you'll have to get into the Vodafone JP system then.

[EDIT] It would be nice if someone could check this for me, as I don't know when my 904sh's going to come from Japan [/EDIT]

Anyone know enough Japanese to work up a guide for how to buy the themes? (i.e. where to click to pay, etc!)

You select the theme you want, for example REC. You download the theme (the ダウンロード button） and accept the license agreement. Then put it into your SD card's "[PRIVATE]＞[VODAFONE]＞[My Items]＞[Themes]"- folder. After that you select the profile you just transferred into the phone and try to select it. Then it should ask to get a data connection in order to get a DRM license file (if it's like the one in Vodafone JP's media files, it propably won't work with other than Vodafone JP connections as it propably uses an IP/other id number to put those 525 yen into your phone bill).

Aaah damn, I was hoping you could just pay at the website and download an 'unlocked' version of the theme. As things stand then, we can't use the other themes until the phone gets unlocked. Plus I never usually bother setting up WAP/etc.

Hopefully some more free themes will get released...

Someone needs to release a themes editor. Just think of the possibillities. Those themes are really nice, they change up everything! From main menu functionality to mp3 animation to battery icon images! I <3 sharp, finally understanding ppls needs.

Montoya - all themes can be downloaded from PC to memory card.

However, those that require payment won't do anything when you try to run them on the 904SH.

I see, thank you all. But with regard to computer not being able to read memory card after the phone formats it, do you transfer files using the cable then? Would that make transferring songs really slow? (never had a sharp before).

I formatted the card in my phone, PC reads it absolutely fine.

the computer not being to read memory cards is for the 2gb cards tho.. not the 1 gb card

Hi Blue, i tried accessing this website to download the iSync software, but it kept asking me for a license key... which i don't have.

I also went into the user registration page, but i couldn't register as it requires a 'serial #' from me. Which i don't have and have no idea what its referring to...

Can you provide some advice how you got your software thru this site?
And also, is the software (after install) in japanese? is it easy to use as i can't read japanese...

the software is Japanese ONLY. (but it's very easy to use) or you can just use your iSync if you like. to buy the software online, you can e-mail them directly ksyncmac@reudo.co.jp

Yeah you got the wrong ones. You need to get the concept ones that are towards the bottom of the page. Look for 無料 - these ones are free. The ones with 有料 cost money.

And at the moment there's no way of getting the 有料 ones to work because you're normally charged through your Vodafone Japan phone bill for these themes.

By chance does anyone have the Ultraman theme they can post, yep to cheap to buy it but really want it........anyone else got any good themes for the 904sh I am looking around but not finding much to really make me jump and shout!!!! I will post some if I find any that are worth the effort of posting
