GX20 Pics on PC - Success? How?

Had my cable for a while, installed the USB Drivers but never finds the phone. Anyone else succeeded at this as I've heard of a lot of failures and the Infa Red is Locked & my MMS doesnt work and I want these pics, 
Any help appreciated
