new Blackberry for VZW?

I was wondering if anyone had info on a new QWERTY BB for Verizon on the horizon... I am a 5-year BB user that went to a WM 5.0 device and don't care for it. I am not a fan of Suretype, and feel the current QWERTY model they have is a bit old with no EVDO.

Thanks.

Umm had you dont a little research you would've noticed that the 7250 is EVDO capable...

I apologize... VZW doesn't list it on their website, though.

Hmm..Phonescoop doesn't show it as EVDO - http://www.phonescoop.com/phones/phone.php?p=673

^^ still does have it though, just requires a software update and a PRL update and you should be good to go. If you dont know how to do it take it to a vzw corp store.

It sure does and mine is proof, if you look closely at the upper right hand corner of the picture below here you will see it there plain as day 1XEV.

Why do you not like the suretype?

Because you can't teach this old dog new tricks... I have had BBs since the pager-style 950 in 1999, type at least 100 emails a day - some quite long and detailed - and the QWERTY keys are too essential for me.

I borrowed a friends 7100 for two days, and became too frustrated too many times at the need to constantly re-read the screen to ensure that the words were correct. I simply need one letter per key.

I guess then the 7250 is good for you. Yes it does have EVDO.

yeah, it's either that, or the Q.

So can you tether the 7250 without having to pay Verizon $15/month on top of your Verizon plan?

If so, it seems there is absolutely no point in choosing the 7130e over the 7250. The 7250 is $100 cheaper and you pay $15/month less to have EVDO and tethering. Am I correct here?

Verizon has closed the free tethering loophole that was available in 4.02 when you upgrade to 4.1. I have heard some people return to 4.02 because they can still tether without the 15 additional charge, but that has not been confirmed yet to me.

Are you talking about the 7130e, the 7250 or both?

The 7130 has a few things extra.

Speakerphone
High Res screen
Programmable Convenience Key
Send and End phone keys
Plus the phone feel

If you like a phone then you'll like this model better.
