I think it should at least have video playback at least

According to leaked roadmap (probably not factual roadmap for Danger), Sidekick III might not have video in it until next generation (NG) comes out.

Hopefully that roadmap is a fake, a diversionary plan and that Sidekick III *DO* have video. I'm hoping that that leaked image is actually a diversionary image to shock the hell out of us with added features.

An old Audiovox from Sprint, the MPX, and another Motorola that flopped are the only phones I remember that have a megapixel camera and not have video recording.

Well lets just hope that memorycard slot just isn't there for looks...lol...if there is no video...I think its safe to say that danger is 3 years behind....even free phones come with video now..

I wanna to know if they are gonna have Video and UMA or Wi-Fi features just like GoldLinux said saw about it at roadmap Video but same thing I know that UMA wouldnt also come out at first time, but later date?? I want to know otherwise I'm go ahead and order MDA the one it has Video and Wi-Fi features for sure which I must to have it, but bad side is I'll have no TTY features for MDA like SK has. (sigh) Sucks big time aint it?

A TTY is a special device that lets people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or speech-impaired use the telephone to communicate, by allowing them to type messages back and forth to one another instead of talking and listening. A TTY is required at both ends of the conversation in order to communicate.

that roadmap is fake I guarantee it because: 1. it said the sidekick 3 would be out in april and 2. why would danger join with motorola to make a sidekick "razr"?

Why? I don't buy a cell phone to be able to record video. I have a video camera for that. Besides, not all (or most for that matter) cell phones have video.

well maybe you don't but obviously enough other people do, in order for it to be a dissapointment if not included. it doesn't take a tech genius to see that things such as, digital camers, bluetooth, music players, and video recorders are becoming standard in 'cell phones.' I use quotes because they are much more than just phones nowadays, they're really pocket-sized multimedia devices that happen to make calls. so with a popular, pop culture device like the sidekick, especially in 2006, video recording is very much expected by consumers.

Not neccesarily. I am a consumer and I don't base my decision to buy a phone on its video capabilities. I own a sidekick 2. I used to own a phone with video, bluetooth, etc. I like my sidekick 2 better than that phone. A majority of current sidekick owners don't give a rat's butt if the sk3 has video or not. They are consumers too. And they will be the first ones to snatch up a sk3 when it's released - video or not. I know I will.

I didn't say it won't sell if it doesn't have video, my point is that many people expect it to have video, especially because of the time of its release. Look at the type of device the sidekick is. When you compare it to stand alone cell phones, many of which have video, it would be surprising to many if it doesn't have recording. This board alone is evidence enough. Understand? I would also think that they were behind other products if they have less than a 2 megapixel camera. Many people are going to buy it just because its a sidekick, which is what I meant by being a pop culture item, but not consumers like me. If I'm not satisfied with the features and it doesn't meet my expectations, then I'll save my money.
