I'm hearing about all these programs you guys are using like BitPIM. I just bought the kx5 a couple days ago (5/6/06) and I was on cingular before with a razr. I liked the razr, did a ton of mods to it, and now I have this kx5 and am wanting to experiment with it. I was wondering if...

1. Someone could tell me where to get all this software, I've googled it, but no luck.

2. Are you able to actually load games to the phone?

3. You all would be interested in me writing a tutorial on how to do all the mods and syncing of the phone, making and loading ringtones, etc...

I'd like to hear from you all, just let me know...

hyper, I'm in the same boat as you. Just bought a KX5 a couple days ago. I've never done any mods to a mobile phone before, so I'm still researching. As for software, I know you can find some of it at the site www.filemirrors.com. I got the mobile PhoneTools from there. You can put in keywords like "phonetools" and it will list the links to FTP sites where you can download the software.

I've gotten MPT to recognize my KX5, and I've transferred a file from PC to the phone. I've played around with entering Contact info but still don't know much about what I'm doing.

E-mail or PM me if you figure out any good tricks.

Yes, it was from BVRP. I may still have the exact link to it -- I'll check when I get home from work tonight.

I used the USB cable that came with it. I'm still having some issues with it, though. I transferred a contact from the PC, and it did show up on the phone. But then when I tried to edit the contact entry on the phone, it wouldn't let me edit it, or delete it. I had to access it in MPT and delete it from there. Then I used the MPT phonebook to just add a contact to the phone itself (rather than adding it on the PC and then transferring it). That seemed to work fine.

Domwolf -- by the way, I see on your profile in the listing of phones you have that it lists the KX5b and says Remix beside it. The KX5b is actually the Slider Sonic and is not the same as the Remix, which is the KX5.

Here in the Dominican Republic the service provider sells it under Remix and the phones says Remix but it has Bluetooth, the phone info says KX5 but also KX5BT
