Computer wont recognize DCU-11 cable

ok so i have all the programs on my computer and everything works great, but today when i tried to install everything on my girlfriends computer, the computer doesn't see the cable. I went to device manager and it's not seeing the cable in either of the USB ports. Can somebody help me?

Post a little more information about her set-up. For all we know, she could be using a Victor with Windows ME--in which case you're better off trying to upload files to your phone by pressing the ones and zeros in from the keypad.

I'd try hooking up a digital camera or something else to test out the USB port first.
