64k SIM - MediaNet - PocketPC

So, today I received a surprise in the mail... a 64k SIM. I live in downtown Seattle, FYI. I have MediaNet on my service, and have just started using a 8125...

Is this a coincidence? Is this going to make them "upgrade" my service to PDA Connect? Is there any reason I shouldn't just throw it away? I have been an Orange Cingular customer since long before the merger, if that matters...

Thanks!!

i have a 64k sim with my 8125, and i use medianet unlimited. did they just send it to you out of the blue? or along with your device?

it would be kind of wierd if they just sent it in the mail randomly.

I believe there are an issue with the 8125 not working well with older SIMs resulting in SIM failures. Perhaps Cingular was taking some pre-emptive measure to make sure you do not have a problem?

I don't think the SIM has anything to do with which data plans you have. Unless you sign up for unlimited I don't think that they can force you into it.

Call CS and ask why yourecieved the new SIM and if you shoud start using it.

I didn't buy the 8125 on my account. I didn't take the contract discount...

I'll call them and post what I find out.

Thanks for the input!

Wirelessly posted (i0wnj00: HTC-8100/1.2 Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; PPC; 240x320) UP.Link/6.3.0.0.0)

SIM cards have nothing to do with data plans or changing them. What type of data plan you have with your service is what CS can physically change using their computers.
The SIM card merely allows you access to the network and other stuff like store phone numbers and txt messages.

They said it was because they detected a new phone on my account and that it would connect better.
