RAZR v3 GPRS problem

I used motokit to take the date and cingular display off of the main screen. The only thing that would show up would be the time, signal meter, gprs pic, and battery meter, and then text and voicemail icons when I get them.

Anyways, when I first turn on the phone, before the GRPS pic appears (the pic right next to the signal meter right?) the date will display, then a few seconds later the logo appears and the date disappears. Thats all fine, its exactly what i want. Problem is, a few days ago the gprs pic wont appear and the date stays on. Why wont the gprs pic disappear? I looked through the menus but I cant find anything that would be different or change anything. One idea i had was that I was just at Cingular to change some features on my phone, and I had him shut off the internet, so that if i ever try to log on it would just say "can't connect" or something like that. It was maybe a day after that, that the gprs logo wont appear. So I guess now the question is how can i make the date disappear after I already edited it to disappear?

There should be a function in the phone to check or uncheck to display the date and time or not ....correct me if im wrong...thats how some nokias do it...does motorola?

no, at least not one that i can find. My V3i's displays time and date regardless. Only when GPRS is active then the date is replaced with the text "GPRS Active"

yeah no choice whether to display it or not. Anyone know the actual seem to remove the date, or at least move it to a different part of the screen? the skin im using moved the date to an awkward part of the screen. can i edit the skin to put the date in a different spot or disappear altogether? Thanks
