Is it possable to replace the screen by the end user? Is there a HOW-TO that gives step by step explanation of dismantling one of these? Would they even sell me a new screen? Thanx in advance.

i suppose you could, but its a ***** to do so, easier to get a new phone.

UTStarcom chanrges $135 to fix the screen. They sell the screen for $120.00. I would send it to fix.

$135.00 is not bad. A shop tried to ding me $300.00 for a screen on a 6600 2 months ago. I told them to pound sand. They returned my phone no charge and I wont ever deal with them again.

Doesn't the phone come with 1 one year manufacturer warranty?

You must still be under it, has the phone even been out for a year?

I highly doubt they will cover a cracked screen. I dropped it! I might ask them though

Cracked screens are not covered, I cracked mine the first month. I ended up sending it in and got it back in a week.

go on ebay and find one thats ALOT cheaper. alot easier to fix them your self. all you need is a screwdriver/torque key set made for replacing and fixing stuff on cell phones and other electronics. i picked a whole kit up on ebay for like 8 bucks.

how do i contact UT about the screen crack ????

Posted by: safet

if you have insurance and its with verizon i'd use the insurance option... its only $50 bucks... tell them it fell out of the holster while you were getting out of the car

yea you could fix it yourself... but you also run the risk of breaking something else in the process. In the end, it will cost you the same amount to fix it yourself as it would to just send it to a company that will fix it for you... doing it yourself might save $20-30 bucks at best.
